Proven ability to engage with and communicate effectively with staff and volunteers
in a variety of community organisations (including schools, Community Centres,
community groups, etc.):
My ability to successfully work with community organisations, their staff and
volunteers, to achieve a wide variety of outcomes has been ongoing for over a
decade. My focus on sustainable food production and social permaculture
within local government, tertiary institutions and grassroots community
groups, demonstrates the deep understanding I have of the issues crucial to
this project and the people involved. My relevant experience includes:

My experience, research and education are directly related to listening,
documenting and collating community attitudes towards food sovereignty
projects and other social justice issues. This includes:
o Survey development for Flinders Community Permaculture Garden to
determine member attitudes towards future direction of garden.
o Questionnaire writing for the Students Association Of Flinders
University to determine student attitudes to higher education policy
and the role of student unionism.
Proven ability to collate survey/questionnaire results and prepare a written report on
the findings:
My experience in survey/questionnaire analysis and report writing while
working for university institutions and community groups proves my aptness
at fulfilling this task. This includes
o Questionnaire analysis delivered via council reports to student council,
Academic Senate and University Council at Flinders University.
o Survey analysis delivered to Flinders Community Permaculture
Garden via Presidents report to members.
Ability to deliver a verbal presentation of the results:
Being able to communicate these attitudes, in addition to policy and research,
is evidenced by past contributions to a variety of publications, conferences and
institutional governing bodies. These include:
o Student representative of the Academic Senate and University Council
of Flinders University where I gave regular reports and feedback on
student attitudes and policy.
o Regular presenter and workshop facilitator at the annual Students Of
Sustainability conference.
