- Quick technology description (1 line) My NAPFA Planner is an interactive planner designed for female NAPFA Test candidates to customize their individual exercise regimes according to recommended capacities and exercises to attain their NAPFA goals. Reason for this technology, a combination of the following What it should help with? help females work towards their NAPFA goals based on current NAPFA results, by encouraging users to engage in regular exercise. Why it (the technology?) is important? To determine the tangible difference between current NAPFA performance and NAPFA goals. In turn, this planner is able to recommend the optimum amounts of exercises. What impact should this technology have? Users can adopt a more realistic and effective exercise regime towards their NAPFA goals (because take into account current performance and future goals) Users can rely on the technology to give them credible and accurate exercise information. As the goals are set by the users themselves, guided with the fitness planner, this instills a sense of responsibility in their own fitness.
- Description of targeted user group and why TIP: use findings from assignments Female Secondary to Tertiary students (13-18 years old) Required to take their NAPFA yearly. Female students who have passed or failed NAPFA find difficulties in improving/passing their NAPFA and want to improve intend to do additional exercise outside of PE classes Females who have reached menarche find difficulties planning their exercise regime Female Secondary, Junior Colleges and Polytechnics (Ngee Ann) students aged between 13-18 years old, and are required to take their NAPFA test yearly is the main group. These students attend regular Physical Education classes once or twice a week. The level of physical fitness differs across the group, as seen from their NAPFA results. User group: For females who find difficulties in improving/passing their NAPFA test. Problem: The weekly physical education sessions may be insufficient for the female students, to train and prepare for the NAPFA test. Additionally, they are not sure how to train or do additional exercises outside of PE classes, as seen from our survey results. Why?: Because NAPFA test is mandatory for all female students between 13-18, and the NAPFA test results are measurable. User group: In this age group, the females experiences menarche. Problem: Difficulties in planning exercise regime.
- Description of targeted activity/task/goal (combination possible) why The overall purpose of this activity is to help users evaluate their current stage of fitness, after which a suggested fitness regime is planned out for the user, to encourage exercise on their own to meet their NAPFA goals. Support why with research insights There are users who would like to do additional exercise outside of PE to train for their NAPFA but do not know how to. Low engagement by users to participate in physical activity, due to the limited curriculum time devoted to physical education. (insert quotes or something from the survey)

Physically A room with a computer - TV, radio, Handphone, Boyfriend, Family. The typical computer screen of a 13-18 year old girl (other windows running) Socially Take place alone, but can take place with a (few) friends. Usually alone, because you use computer alone. Organizationally (Household) Usually within a domestic household - at 13-18, not everybody has their own computer (but it's changing)
- We emphasize the importance of understanding the needs of each user by customizing suggested solutions for their needs, based on individual assessments of not only their goals, but their current measured performance. Unlike other generic planners, this solution takes a balance between flexibility and instilling discipline among users. The planner tries to understand the needs of the users, but at the same time, it takes a non-intrusive approach, by placing the responsibility on the users to attain their own goals. Value-addedness. We engage users at the emotional level, by finding a suggesting exercises that can help them cope with menstruation periods. (menses tracker)

Do you think our planner would be utilized by the intended audience, because some girls think that it is better to diet so as to lose weight, rather than exercise to stay fit to maintain their fitness. Answer: This planner aims to help users kickstart their exercise regime. It is aimed to educate and motivate the users to view exercise as the most healthy method of staying fit. I'd like to think that we should saw our planner can cater to them even after NAPFA, which is why i faded "My Exercise Planner" in the prototype - to accommodate the calories counter. IDEAS ANYONE?
