  3. 3.  Persaingan global telah melahirkan standar kompetisi baru.  Pada kondisi ini setiap perusahaan yang ingin tetap survive dan growth harus dapat menciptakan dan mempertahankan competitive advantage yang dimilikinya dengan terus-menerus meningkatkan daya saing.  Persaingan bisnis yang semakin tinggi menuntut perusahaan untuk terus meningkatkan kinerja berbagai elemen di dalam organisasi/perusahaan.  Salah satu cara untuk mewujudkan kesuksesan tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan cara mengintegrasikan sistem informasi, peningkatan efisiensi dari sistem informasi untuk menghasilkan manajemen yang lebih efisien dalam business processes. Peran IT dalam AKTIVITAS BISNIS • Pemanfaatan Teknologi (terutama Teknologi Informasi) telah banyak digunakan untuk mendukung proses bisnis yang terjadi pada perusahaan, baik bidang ekonomi maupun perbankan. • Yaitu dengan telah hadirnya aplikasi-aplikasi dan layanan e-bussiness, e-commerce, e-banking dan lain-lain. • Kebutuhan akan efisiensi waktu dan biaya menyebabkan setiap pelaku bisnis merasa (tidak dapat dipungkiri) perlu menerapkan teknologi informasi dalam lingkungan kerja. • Penerapan Teknologi Informasi menyebabkan perubahan pada pola kebiasaan kerja.

  6. 6.  Salah satu konsep yang cukup terkenal yang merupakan sistem yang mengintegrasikan proses setiap line dalam manajemen perusahaan secara transparansi dan memiliki akuntabilitas yang cukup tinggi yaitu konsep Entreprise Resource Planning (ERP).  Untuk memasuki pasar internasional, ERP merupakan salah satu yang menjadi pra-syarat dasar bagi setiap perusahaan.  Data yang diintegrasikan melalui ERP dapat membantu proses bisnis yang efesien dan memudahkan pengambilan keputusan oleh manajemen perusahaan.
