My schedule:
With my employment schedule, plus other responsibilities

5. STUDY STRATEGIES
Planner:
I use a digital planner. Typically I use the calendar on my
cell phone that also syncs to the laptop I use.
Having a planner to keep track of assignments and
activities that are needing attention or due helps me stay
more organized and has proven to better help me with
time management.
To Do List:
I use a daily to do list to see the important
information needing attention each day. This helps
break up tasks so that I don’t feel so overwhelmed
with my academics.
6. STUDY STRATEGIES
Time Blocking:
I recently added in time blocking for scheduling my
tasks. This has been helpful because it helps me to
focus on more than one subject or course.
Breaking Work Up:
I try to break up my larger assignments and projects
into smaller, more manageable pieces. This helps me
to keep focused and be able to give my academics
my best effort.
Plan Fun Time:
I realize that it’s important to enjoy life while
bettering it. I try to plan fun, “me” time so that I can
enjoy hobbies I like. It gives me something to look
forward to.
8. TIME MANAGEMENT TOOLS
School Planner:
A free app that allows me to time block periods for
my college courses. Sends notification reminders to
help keep me on track.
9. GOAL SETTING
Ideal Goal Setting:
• Set one large goal
• Set multiple smaller goals (stages)
• Set rewards for reaching all goals
My Academic Goals:
• Graduate with IT degree
• Complete each semester with as much
confidence and knowledge as possible
• Set time line for graduation
• Follow time-management tools to complete tasks
in timely manner
• After each successful semester reward with family
mini-trip

10. MEDITATION
Meditation is a calming technique that allows the
mind to rest and focus.
There are many benefits to meditation, including
improving mental state to allow for better focus with
academics.
Incorporating meditation helps me with my
assignments as it helps alleviate stress before
working.
