In general, “media” refers to the tools of mass communication.
Media today consists of television, Internet, cinema, newspapers,
radio, magazines, direct mail, fax, and the telephone.
The influence of mass media has an
effect on many aspects of human life,
which can include voting a certain way,
individual views and beliefs, or
skewing a person's knowledge of a
specific topic due to being
provided false information.

In just one generation the Internet changed the way we make and experience
nearly all of media. Today the very act of consuming media creates an entirely new
form of it: the social data layer that tells the story of what we like, what we watch,
who and what we pay attention to, and our location when doing so

outreach
● A free and fair media strengthens democracy. It provides an open
platform to present diverse ideas and solutions

Media is a crucial feature of the Indian society. During the freedom
struggle, media was used as an instrument to criticize
the British Raj. It propelled India towards
Independence.
Now, It has become the ‘Fourth Pillar’,
viewed alongside the three organs
of the government.
