The energy efficiency of a conventional brake is only about 20 percent, with the remaining 80 percent of its energy being converted to heat through friction. The kit” regenerative braking system” is that it may be able to capture as much as half of the wasted energy and put it back to work. This reduces fuel consumption by 10 to 25 percent. Hence regenerative braking plays an important role in fuel consumption and also in the field of speed.
Our main motive is to built a mechanism which can be attached to the brake drum of the vehicle, this mechanism consist of friction rotating pulley which resist the rotation of the wheel. Hence waste energy of friction and heat is now utilized. To build this mechanism, consists of hard-friction pulley which can be attached to wheel and can transmit power to the generator. This pulley does two works to stop the vehicle and it transmits the power to generator and act as a prime mover.
