HRM is one of the most buzzing word in todays century, it is one of the most extensive
aspect for a business organization that corporate with the organization to meet the
appetite of an organization. Recently I have been appointed as a HR director of BBMC
organization and I have been asked to treasure trove their strengths and weakness that is
implicate with the change, later on, analyze the opportunity and threats involved with

this change. Every problems comes up with some issues and some resolving issues as
well. Every coin has two sides, even though every problem, change or issue has the same
alike a coin. Along that, recruiting some staff where needed with the changes and to find
out the training they require as well as the way to acknowledge the performance of the
BBMC employee that they are undertaking to expedient organization’s motto. Not only
this, but also pursue training and development plan for existing employee of the
organization and also for new entrants, because it will give the new entrants as an
overview of the organization, about organizations promise, motto and goal.
HR jobs are related with above fundamental, so as I have been employed for BBMC
music and book organization as a HR manager so I have to work on those fundamental
to change the current ongoing issue and to conformed organizations target.
HRM (Human Resource Management) is the administration of a business organization’s
staff and worker’s. Moreover, it is attributed as human resources or allocation. An
organization’s human resource department is pledged for implementing, recruiting,
training, developing and implementing rules and regulation and to make sure a safety
environment for the organization’s workers. However, it is associated with the
relationship, supporting and managing between the employer and employee. HR has
been known as the core of the organization as well as the fundamental element of the
organization.
“Human resource management is a distinctive approach to employment management
which seeks to achieve competitive advantage through the strategic deployment of a
highly committed and capable workforce, using an array of cultural, structural and
personnel techniques.’ (Storey)
HRM is the method of conduction and managing employee of the organization in a lay
out and planned manner. It consists of recruiting new staff, training and developing the
staff as well as retaining the members of the organization.
In the given case study, E-commerce came to BBMC, which is exodus and a challenging
change inside the organization. Organization brought this change to make more profit
but some how this change is not adopted yet with member of staff of the organization.

So to deal with this critical situation organization might go though some following steps
to adopt this change;
E-commerce is not only buying and selling goods but also the background process of the
organization. Generally, e-commerce focus on trading and transactional between the
organization’s web site and the user of the website basically the on-line consumer of the
organization. (Dedhia, 2001).
BBMC is a family oriented business since 1925 and past few years they are doing this
business smoothly. In the organization newly they brought a new change that is e-
commerce business. Recently I have been appointed as a HR director of BBMC so I
have to undertake this issue and I have to implement this change while it will be adopted
for all the staff.
When any company bring any change for the organization, obviously they bring it for
some new changes with new motto. But this change can be beneficial or may be not,
because any change need enactment from everyone to deal with it. Since this change
came up then company is facing some challenges to adopt this change, so to make it
effective we have to work though following criteria;

When organization brings any change then they have to make sure that staff are aware
about the change and they are well prepared as well as trained enough to work with it.
Since BBMC implemented with their new idea which is really impressive and to easy to
attract more consumer than before. So staff should be trained and developed to work
with it. Not only this, but also company need to recruit more staff to perform this task,
below there are some steps that BBMC should follow the handle this change in the
company;
 Contract between organization and the employee.
 Negotiation between the company and their staff with new change.
 Provides training and seminar for the employee.
 Hiring and recruiting more staff if needed.
 Not just putting and order but to make sure about the choice or preference.
 When the new change is announced, make sure to inform all the staff, tell them
the reason to bring the change.
 After implementing the change make sure to do action plan.
 Help with literacy and communication.
 Monitoring.
When company brings any change them company should make aware the staff about it.
BBMC recently brought a change about e-commerce or on-line business. As a HR
Manager from my own perspective view, they should let their staff know that they are
bringing this change then should see member’s feedback that how they accept this
change. Their ideas, views and opinions about this change. Secondly, we should make
sure that, we have to provide training to all the employees who will undertake this task
because without any training or development plan it can be a obstacle for the employees.
Make sure that, the staff who is already involved in the company if they are not capable
enough for this work, make sure to recruit more staff for the company. Along that,
creating a plan chart for this new step to seek how does this new change is performing.
In workplace diversity is involved and in my view it is important to have it, some people
might have some language barrier for communication, make sure to have good
communication with those staff. Afterwards, as a HR Manager my plan is to monitor the
staff to see that, how they are working and how the process is adopting. By doing the
above steps; BBMC can easily handle the new change that they brought and it will be
beneficial to retain more profit for the company.

In the given case study, there can bee seen some of Strength of BBMC when they
merged the e-commerce as a new addition, Strength of BBMC is as below;
Strengths of BBMC:
 Successful family oriented business since 1925.
 Wider range of books and music.
 Higher level of consumer service, with a motto of; “You want it, we got it/We
can get it fast.’
 Supply chain company with thirty (30) stores in Louisiana and medium size
stores in town.

 Mostly available store in everywhere, including; Louisiana, Mississippi,
Alabama and Georgia.
 Highly adaptability of distribution.
 Relatively low turnover among the members.
WeaknessofBBMC;
Every business organization has their strength along that they have some weakness as
well, but if the organization can utilize this weakness then the weakness can make it a
great opportunity for the organization. Weakness of BBMC organization is mentioned as
below;
 Newly merged system; E-commerce.
 Unexperienced staff to deal with new change.
 Having lower consumer, because most of the consumer prefer on-line shopping
rather than going to retail store.
 Seems like BBMC didn’t had an HR department before, which is most effective
for an organization.
Opportunities of BBMC;
As it was mentioned before that, weakness can be used as opportunities, as far
BBMC consolidate e-commerce to increase their sales, so for that organization their
opportunities as mentioned below;
 In this 21st century on-line consumers are uprising.
 On-line users prefer to buy it from internet rather than going to shop,
 It can be easier to serve more consumer rather than before, because it is time
consuming.
 For the new trend; BBMC can recruit some part time employee and pay less.
Because new employee can do their task at staying home.
 Biggest opportunity is to lower the cost; it requires less funding rather than
physical stores.
 E-commerce or on-line shop increase the consumer service so it will be much
more beneficial for BBMC.
 Use web as for online advertisement and offer, BBMC can use their web as
for advertise their offer to get more consumer.

Threats of BBMC;
Threats of BBMC could be;
 Less consumer if the consumer already has a bad experience with other
companies.
 Online payment can be risk because of online hacking and pushing.
 Risk of data theft of on-line business.
 Risk of Crime ware.
Recently BBMC brought a new change and a new version of their business which is e-
commerce. So, to deal with this ne change or challenge BBMC should take this step
vigorously. Because most of their employee are used to perform their task in a retail
store but now company migrant with a new idea of e-commerce. There are so many
impacts of e-commerce inside the business in todays 21st century. It helps to improve the
productivity, cost saving, time saving and better consumer service than before with new
opportunities for the business. E-commerce is basically two (2); alike;
 Business to Business E-commerce (B2B)
 Business to Consumer E-commerce (B2C)
BBMC generally targeted the second one B2C to attract more consumer than before and
to retain more profit rather than before. However, most of the employee of the
organization are used to work in a retail store and some of them are aged group
employee. Along that, organization is having part time and full timer worker both. From
my point of view as a HR Manager, my opinion will be as followed in term of staff for
the organization;
Recruiting and Hiring
 Hiring some IT worker for the new additional business.
Evaluation of HR Practice Imlication

 Recruiting more part time worker rather than full timer, for example; Full timer
workers work whole day, their working hours are; opening time till closing time.
Most of them are aged people, so it is quite hard for them to give the same
performance from beginning till closing.
 If we hire some part time worker than we can divide the shift hours in two times.
 Making group rather than let them work as individual, it will be more productive.
 Choosing a right person as a Leader of group, who is responsible for the task.
 Promoting the older staff who is working long time, otherwise they will perform
the same as new entrants.
Training and DevelopmentProgram
For the new change in the organization BBMC should provide training program as
followed;
 Available training for the staff to work smoothly with the new change.
 Providing an instruction book or article to know briefly about the change.
 Send people for training who is going to be responsible for a group.
 Make the difference in salary for working in store and online.
 After training make sure to monitor the staff member.
As a HR manager of BBMC there are is a step guide that I would like to
have to make it useful for the organization;
 Generating a development time table, where I can easily find out the progress of
the organization.
 Then I would organize and migrate a catalog of a product data; to find out the
progress of it and where we need to bring more changes to make the new change
more effective.
 Develop an online checklist after the e-dealing; thus will be helpful to get
feedback from the consumer. If the have any issue, then we can focus on this
issue. As well as we can use those issue as our company strategy.

As for the sum, I would like to sat that, 21st century is more competitive in term of
business and everyone wants to retain the profit by their own strategy. BBMC staff
can easily perform this task easily because they brought the change and they gave a
good image for the organization and because of them this company got a well known
image, so I don’t think that after training and development as also recruiting and
hiring some member it will be a big issue to cope it. Some recent research illustrates
that e-commerce is a more trending business and much more effective to retain
profit. Not only this, but also member should get inspired and apprise after doing a
performance because a simple inspiration can lead them a mile way and they are
willing to give their great effort for that.

  • 4. 4 this change. Every problems comes up with some issues and some resolving issues as well. Every coin has two sides, even though every problem, change or issue has the same alike a coin. Along that, recruiting some staff where needed with the changes and to find out the training they require as well as the way to acknowledge the performance of the BBMC employee that they are undertaking to expedient organization’s motto. Not only this, but also pursue training and development plan for existing employee of the organization and also for new entrants, because it will give the new entrants as an overview of the organization, about organizations promise, motto and goal. HR jobs are related with above fundamental, so as I have been employed for BBMC music and book organization as a HR manager so I have to work on those fundamental to change the current ongoing issue and to conformed organizations target. HRM (Human Resource Management) is the administration of a business organization’s staff and worker’s. Moreover, it is attributed as human resources or allocation. An organization’s human resource department is pledged for implementing, recruiting, training, developing and implementing rules and regulation and to make sure a safety environment for the organization’s workers. However, it is associated with the relationship, supporting and managing between the employer and employee. HR has been known as the core of the organization as well as the fundamental element of the organization. “Human resource management is a distinctive approach to employment management which seeks to achieve competitive advantage through the strategic deployment of a highly committed and capable workforce, using an array of cultural, structural and personnel techniques.’ (Storey) HRM is the method of conduction and managing employee of the organization in a lay out and planned manner. It consists of recruiting new staff, training and developing the staff as well as retaining the members of the organization. In the given case study, E-commerce came to BBMC, which is exodus and a challenging change inside the organization. Organization brought this change to make more profit but some how this change is not adopted yet with member of staff of the organization. Introduction
  • 5. 5 So to deal with this critical situation organization might go though some following steps to adopt this change; E-commerce is not only buying and selling goods but also the background process of the organization. Generally, e-commerce focus on trading and transactional between the organization’s web site and the user of the website basically the on-line consumer of the organization. (Dedhia, 2001). BBMC is a family oriented business since 1925 and past few years they are doing this business smoothly. In the organization newly they brought a new change that is e- commerce business. Recently I have been appointed as a HR director of BBMC so I have to undertake this issue and I have to implement this change while it will be adopted for all the staff. When any company bring any change for the organization, obviously they bring it for some new changes with new motto. But this change can be beneficial or may be not, because any change need enactment from everyone to deal with it. Since this change came up then company is facing some challenges to adopt this change, so to make it effective we have to work though following criteria; Developmentand Training Recruting Deveopment and Training HR Policies and Practices BBMC Analysis
  • 6. 6 When organization brings any change then they have to make sure that staff are aware about the change and they are well prepared as well as trained enough to work with it. Since BBMC implemented with their new idea which is really impressive and to easy to attract more consumer than before. So staff should be trained and developed to work with it. Not only this, but also company need to recruit more staff to perform this task, below there are some steps that BBMC should follow the handle this change in the company;  Contract between organization and the employee.  Negotiation between the company and their staff with new change.  Provides training and seminar for the employee.  Hiring and recruiting more staff if needed.  Not just putting and order but to make sure about the choice or preference.  When the new change is announced, make sure to inform all the staff, tell them the reason to bring the change.  After implementing the change make sure to do action plan.  Help with literacy and communication.  Monitoring. When company brings any change them company should make aware the staff about it. BBMC recently brought a change about e-commerce or on-line business. As a HR Manager from my own perspective view, they should let their staff know that they are bringing this change then should see member’s feedback that how they accept this change. Their ideas, views and opinions about this change. Secondly, we should make sure that, we have to provide training to all the employees who will undertake this task because without any training or development plan it can be a obstacle for the employees. Make sure that, the staff who is already involved in the company if they are not capable enough for this work, make sure to recruit more staff for the company. Along that, creating a plan chart for this new step to seek how does this new change is performing. In workplace diversity is involved and in my view it is important to have it, some people might have some language barrier for communication, make sure to have good communication with those staff. Afterwards, as a HR Manager my plan is to monitor the staff to see that, how they are working and how the process is adopting. By doing the above steps; BBMC can easily handle the new change that they brought and it will be beneficial to retain more profit for the company.
  • 7. 7 In the given case study, there can bee seen some of Strength of BBMC when they merged the e-commerce as a new addition, Strength of BBMC is as below; Strengths of BBMC:  Successful family oriented business since 1925.  Wider range of books and music.  Higher level of consumer service, with a motto of; “You want it, we got it/We can get it fast.’  Supply chain company with thirty (30) stores in Louisiana and medium size stores in town.   • 8. 8  Mostly available store in everywhere, including; Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.  Highly adaptability of distribution.  Relatively low turnover among the members. WeaknessofBBMC; Every business organization has their strength along that they have some weakness as well, but if the organization can utilize this weakness then the weakness can make it a great opportunity for the organization. Weakness of BBMC organization is mentioned as below;  Newly merged system; E-commerce.  Unexperienced staff to deal with new change.  Having lower consumer, because most of the consumer prefer on-line shopping rather than going to retail store.  Seems like BBMC didn’t had an HR department before, which is most effective for an organization. Opportunities of BBMC; As it was mentioned before that, weakness can be used as opportunities, as far BBMC consolidate e-commerce to increase their sales, so for that organization their opportunities as mentioned below;  In this 21st century on-line consumers are uprising.  On-line users prefer to buy it from internet rather than going to shop,  It can be easier to serve more consumer rather than before, because it is time consuming.  For the new trend; BBMC can recruit some part time employee and pay less. Because new employee can do their task at staying home.  Biggest opportunity is to lower the cost; it requires less funding rather than physical stores.  E-commerce or on-line shop increase the consumer service so it will be much more beneficial for BBMC.  Use web as for online advertisement and offer, BBMC can use their web as for advertise their offer to get more consumer.
  • 9. 9 Threats of BBMC; Threats of BBMC could be;  Less consumer if the consumer already has a bad experience with other companies.  Online payment can be risk because of online hacking and pushing.  Risk of data theft of on-line business.  Risk of Crime ware. Recently BBMC brought a new change and a new version of their business which is e- commerce. So, to deal with this ne change or challenge BBMC should take this step vigorously. Because most of their employee are used to perform their task in a retail store but now company migrant with a new idea of e-commerce. There are so many impacts of e-commerce inside the business in todays 21st century. It helps to improve the productivity, cost saving, time saving and better consumer service than before with new opportunities for the business. E-commerce is basically two (2); alike;  Business to Business E-commerce (B2B)  Business to Consumer E-commerce (B2C) BBMC generally targeted the second one B2C to attract more consumer than before and to retain more profit rather than before. However, most of the employee of the organization are used to work in a retail store and some of them are aged group employee. Along that, organization is having part time and full timer worker both. From my point of view as a HR Manager, my opinion will be as followed in term of staff for the organization; Recruiting and Hiring  Hiring some IT worker for the new additional business.   • 10. 10  Recruiting more part time worker rather than full timer, for example; Full timer workers work whole day, their working hours are; opening time till closing time. Most of them are aged people, so it is quite hard for them to give the same performance from beginning till closing.  If we hire some part time worker than we can divide the shift hours in two times.  Making group rather than let them work as individual, it will be more productive.  Choosing a right person as a Leader of group, who is responsible for the task.  Promoting the older staff who is working long time, otherwise they will perform the same as new entrants. Training and DevelopmentProgram For the new change in the organization BBMC should provide training program as followed;  Available training for the staff to work smoothly with the new change.  Providing an instruction book or article to know briefly about the change.  Send people for training who is going to be responsible for a group.  Make the difference in salary for working in store and online.  After training make sure to monitor the staff member. As a HR manager of BBMC there are is a step guide that I would like to have to make it useful for the organization;  Generating a development time table, where I can easily find out the progress of the organization.  Then I would organize and migrate a catalog of a product data; to find out the progress of it and where we need to bring more changes to make the new change more effective.  Develop an online checklist after the e-dealing; thus will be helpful to get feedback from the consumer. If the have any issue, then we can focus on this issue. As well as we can use those issue as our company strategy. Conclusion
  • 11. 11 As for the sum, I would like to sat that, 21st century is more competitive in term of business and everyone wants to retain the profit by their own strategy. BBMC staff can easily perform this task easily because they brought the change and they gave a good image for the organization and because of them this company got a well known image, so I don’t think that after training and development as also recruiting and hiring some member it will be a big issue to cope it. Some recent research illustrates that e-commerce is a more trending business and much more effective to retain profit. Not only this, but also member should get inspired and apprise after doing a performance because a simple inspiration can lead them a mile way and they are willing to give their great effort for that.
