Power generating system by footstep

  1. 1. POWER GENERATING SYSTEM BY FOOTSTEP
  2. 2. INTRODUCTION  Walking is the most common activity in human life.  The energy lost by walking can be tapped and converted into electrical energy.  This energy produced will be the alternative source of energy.
  3. 3. NEED OF THE SYSTEM  The demand of power is increasing day by day but the generation of power is insufficient.  The utilization of waste energy of foot power with human motion is very important for highly populated countries like India.  In India, there are still many villages with no electricity.  So the footstep power generating system will be helpful to develop the economy of the nation.
  4. 4. BASIC PRINCIPLE  The basic principle of the system is piezoelectric effect.  According to which the ability of certain materials to convert mechanical force in to the electrical force.  By this principle, we are using a piezoelectric sensor which converts pressure into electrical power.
  5. 5. Block Diagram of Footstep Power Generating System
  6. 6.  Whenever force is applied on piezoelectric crystals that force is converted into electrical energy.  This energy is stored in the lead acid battery which is connected to the inverter.  This inverter converts 12 volt DC into 230 volt AC.  We are using rechargeable battery for giving supply to the system.  The microcontroller AT89S52 is used to display the amount of battery get charged using a LCD.  This 230 volt AC voltage is used to activate the loads. WORKING
  7. 7. POWER GENERATING IN FOOTSTEPS  This method is responsible for generation of large amount of energy.  This system is placed at the footpaths and steps where people make contact with it.  These materials get excessive pressure and force.  By this greater amount of energy is generated and stored.
  8. 8. ADVANTAGES  Economical.  Eco friendly.  Reliable.  No consumption of non-renewable sources.  Noise free.  Self generation.  Long life.
  9. 9. APPLICATIONS It is used for:  Street lighting.  Traffic signals.  Home appliances.  Mobile charging. It is used in:  Lift systems.  Universities.  Bus stands.  Railway stations.
