EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Blue Hen  Jobs Statistics for  Business Students  # of jobs posted  		: 1263 # of internships posted  	: 589  Students attending:  Career Workshops      	: 1282 Information Sessions 	: 2227 Information Tables    	: 650 Hosted  over 40 career programs Established  new relationships with over 50 new employers Recorded over 25,000 hits on the Lerner College Career Services Center website Created 3 new handouts Cover Letters for Business Students Resume Writing for Business Students How to use Blue Hen Jobs Established and maintained the Lerner College Calendar Designed and implemented “Employer of the Week” banners Collaborated on the development  of  the MBA resume book Collated, analyzed and generated the Post Graduation Survey  Analysis Report (available upon request) Managed and increased participation in the Executive Mentor Scholars program by 33.3%  SNAPSHOT OF THE CSC ACTIVITIES  (2009-2010) LERNER COLLEGE CAREER SERVICES CENTER 3
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING/ADVISING Individual appointments went up by 35% from the Fall 2009 semester to Spring 2010 semester. This increase was due to increased outreach effort, more efficient marketing strategies and increased collaboration with the faculty and the college.  The majority of undergraduate students who participated in Career Counseling or Advising sessions were juniors and seniors enrolled in Lerner College. The majority of graduate students who participated in Career Counseling or Advising Sessions were international students. Career Advising/Counseling was offered to students in the following areas Resume and cover letter reviews Exploring job-search strategies Preparing for Interviews Navigating career fairs Negotiating  job offers Selecting a major Exploring Graduate school opportunities “Thank you very much for your time to review my resume and cover letter this morning. We had a really great conversation and I learned a lot from your opinions and experience. Hereby I just want to express my sincere appreciation again for your constructive insight and advice.” LERNER COLLEGE CAREER SERVICES CENTER 4
EMPLOYER DEVELOPMENT & OUTREACH Our employer development plan increased employer outreach by  23.5%. The employer development campaign focused outreach to small and mid-sized organizations. The campaign consisted of the following actions: Organized targeted outreach to the  Chamber of Commerce in Delaware & Delaware Bioscience Association Conducted site visits to key organizations (names available upon request) Followed-up with organizations that did not participate in on-campus recruiting activities in 2008-2009 	In the 2009-2010 Employer Survey, results indicated that UD students had strong verbal communication skills, are academically prepared for the workforce, and have good personal appearance for interviews. Overall, employers believed that UD applicants when compared to other schools needed additional assistance with resume preparation and needed to work on improving their knowledge about companies prior to interviews.  “The involvement between the Career Services staff, the programs it holds (Mock Interviews, Resume reviews etc. ) and the students is great. I’ve volunteered my time at several events and there’s always a wonderful student turnout. I’m always impressed at how prepared and professional the students are at UD- which is a credit to the Career Services team” LERNER COLLEGE CAREER SERVICES CENTER 5
BLUE HEN JOBS Blue Hen Jobs is a database of  internships and jobs -- including full-time, part-time, volunteer, and summer jobs  posted specifically for UD students and alum in the US and around the world. LERNER COLLEGE CAREER SERVICES CENTER Top employers hiring UD students are: ,[object Object]

This increase was due to increased outreach effort, more efficient marketing strategies and increased collaboration with the faculty and the college. The majority of undergraduate students who participated in Career Counseling or Advising sessions were juniors and seniors enrolled in Lerner College. The majority of graduate students who participated in Career Counseling or Advising Sessions were international students. Career Advising/Counseling was offered to students in the following areas Resume and cover letter reviews Exploring job-search strategies Preparing for Interviews Navigating career fairs Negotiating job offers Selecting a major Exploring Graduate school opportunities “Thank you very much for your time to review my resume and cover letter this morning.   • 5. EMPLOYER DEVELOPMENT & OUTREACH Our employer development plan increased employer outreach by 23.5%. The employer development campaign focused outreach to small and mid-sized organizations. The campaign consisted of the following actions: Organized targeted outreach to the Chamber of Commerce in Delaware & Delaware Bioscience Association Conducted site visits to key organizations (names available upon request) Followed-up with organizations that did not participate in on-campus recruiting activities in 2008-2009 In the 2009-2010 Employer Survey, results indicated that UD students had strong verbal communication skills, are academically prepared for the workforce, and have good personal appearance for interviews. Overall, employers believed that UD applicants when compared to other schools needed additional assistance with resume preparation and needed to work on improving their knowledge about companies prior to interviews. “The involvement between the Career Services staff, the programs it holds (Mock Interviews, Resume reviews etc. ) and the students is great. I’ve volunteered my time at several events and there’s always a wonderful student turnout. Top employers offering internships for Business majors include: KPMG Ernst & Young Deloitte Macy’s JPMorgan Chase PwC Bank of America AstraZeneca Aflac AAA Mid-Atlantic Lerner College Career Services Center assumed responsibility for the Corporate Associates Program starting June 2010. CareerShift™ allows students to search and store jobs from all the major job boards, company websites and newspapers as well as getting inside contact info immediately, including email addresses, for millions of companies, including UD alumni. Blue Hen Jobs is a database of internships and jobs -- including full-time, part-time, volunteer, and summer jobs -- posted specifically for UD students and alum in the US and around the world.
