3. Introduction to Management
Management is the act of getting people together to accomplish desired goals
and objectives using available resources efficiently and effectively. Since
organization can be viewed as systems, management can also be defined as
human action, including design, to facilitate the production of useful outcomes
from a system.
The concept of management is not restricted to business organisation but even
non business organisation needs to manage its functions. Management is a
pervasive and universally accepted function. No organisation can work
smoothly and efficiently without management.

4. Introduction to Ramayana
The Ramayana is an ancient Sanskrit epic about Rama. It is one
of the two most important ancient epics in India, the first one
being the ancient Mahabharata.
The epic was originally written by sage (rishi) Valmiki of ancient
India.
The story of the Ramayana is about Prince Rama who has been
exiled from his kingdom of Ayodhya. He goes on to kill king
Ravana or Lanka in a long battle.

8. Planning: Planning is always the first function performed by every
manager. Planning refers to “deciding in advance what to do, how to do,
when to do, and who is going to do it. “Planning bridges the gap
between where we stand today and where we want to reach”.
Organising: After setting up of plans next function of every manager is
to organise the activities and establishing an organisation structure to
execute plan.
Staffing: Staffing is the third step or function of a manager. It refers to
recruiting, selecting, appointing the employees, assigning them duties,
maintaining cordial relations and taking care of grievances of
employees.

9. Directing: Once the employees are appointed there is need to instruct
them and get the work done. Directing refers to giving directions or
instructions to employees by motivating them, supervising the activities of
employees, communicating with them.
Controlling: This is the last function of managers. In this function
managers try to match the actual performance with the planned
performance and if there is no match between both then managers try to
find out the reasons of deviation and suggest corrective measures to come
on the path plan.

Management of any type, whether in business or some other human
activity, in simplest of words is the act of bringing people together to
