Landmark Forum - Positive attitude is the key to success
1. Landmark Forum – Positive attitude is the key to success
Positivity can solve many a problem in life. The attitude is what matters. Landmark Forum has a
very unique way of summing up the difference between hard work, good luck, and attitude. Give
every alphabet a number according to their place in the English language. A is 1 whereas Z is
26. Now, hard work equals 99 and Good Luck corresponds to 88. Now, consider attitude. It
sums up to 100. Landmark Forum focuses on these aspects in their courses that run for three
and a half days.
People can have doubts whether this short period is enough for one to imbibe every aspect of
human relation management. Of course, no one can teach every point in human relationship
management in three and a half days. The Landmark Forum has shown the way. Now, it is up
to the individual to follow these principles and practice them in his daily life. He can improvise
with his own additions depending on the situation. This is an ongoing process where every step
is a kind of a learning curve. He would face a new situation every day for which he has to apply
the principles learned at the Forum courses.
2. The Forum emphasizes on its participants developing a positive attitude. A positive attitude can
help to diffuse any kind of a volatile situation. When you look at the positive aspects of things,
you can find different ways of finding solutions to your problems. We shall explain the
importance of this positive attitude with the help of this small anecdote. This was the topic of a
Landmark Forum review.
A king in ancient India had a minister in his cabinet who was a positive person at heart. He had
the habit of looking at the bright side of things. Naturally, he was the favorite of the king. He had
a habit of saying that whatever happens, it is for the good of the individual alone. One day the
king went for a hunting expedition, He received an injury on his right hand and lost a finger. The
king was depressed but the minister condoned him by stating that the injury has occurred for the
good of the king. The king became angry and ordered for the minister to be jailed immediately.
The minister again remarked that it is for his benefit that he is going to jail. The king failed to
understand the logic.
A couple of days later, the king went on a hunting expedition alone. As luck would have it, a
gang of cannibals captured the king and started boiling the water to have the king as their meal.
They suddenly noticed that the king did not have one finger. It was against their custom to eat
an incomplete man. Hence, they released the king. The king now realized the importance of the
minister’s statement. On coming back he released the minister from jail and thanked him for his
opinions.
However, the king was curious to know as to how going to jail benefited the minister. The
minister explained that if he had not gone to jail, he would have definitely accompanies the king
on the expedition. The king had a broken finger whereas he did not have any. Therefore, the
cannibals would have made a meal of the minister. Therefore, going to jail had saved him from
becoming the cannibal’s meal.
