For immigration purposes, Ravi Patel needed to achieve four 7.0 scores for each skill on
the same day, per Australia’s skilled immigration laws.
Ravi earned 8.5 for each skill on each test.

2. Each score of 6.5 was a result of examiner fraud conducted by the Chief Examiner at
Sydney University’s IELTS test center. The Chief Examiner is under instruction from
IELTS head office that no more than 3% of English language testers may be awarded a
score of 7.0 or higher for all four skills taken on the same test. IELTS believe that the
Canadian Government and Australian Government are their customers.
Each score of 6.5 was a result of fraud by the Chief Examiner. The Chief Examiner can
detect from Ravi’s IELTS application form that he plans to immigrate to Australia.
The Chief Examiner lowers the achievement mark of 8.5 to 6.5 for speaking and writing
as the assessment procedure for these skills are subjective. These skills are the easiest to
cheat and IELTS do not publicly release candidate’s examination content.
