2. Q&A
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE BELIEVE
The economy, politics, and social trends can
effecthuman service agencies negatively.
Politicians can help provide new policies that can
open doors to more funding foragencies or
policies may suspend funding. For instance,
budget cuts tookplace in California and other
states that effectedsection 8 participants.
The aftermath is that landlords are choosing
not to deal with the program anymore leaving low
income families homeless or new participants
with nowhere to rent so vouchersare expiring.
This is just one of the few examples of how there
is no advocacy onbehalf of the disadvantaged.
Ignite’s intent is to bring cultural awareness to
agencies that have failed our clients because of the
lack of knowledge thereof. We raise the standards
by bringing about an evident change in our
community. Our clients are ignited to change
through advocacy and mentorship.
It is our belief that when people are leftin
stressful situations it leads to distress and
eventually disorder. Our method will prevent this
cyclefromoccurring, and it will also address the
needs of those who are suffering fromdisorders
caused by unnecessary distress, and other factors.
What is our organization
method? Our organization uses
motivational interviewing to
empower our clients to change. We
believe that rehabilitation and not
punishment leads to reform. We
guide our clients through their
transition by igniting their existing
abilities, which stabilizes them and
creates self-sufficiency.
Why does our organization
stand firm on advocacy? We
believe that advocacy opens doors
for our clients, which prevents
relapse, criminal activity, and
homelessness.
Why Mentorship?
When people have support they are
more likely to be motivated to
change. Our mentors are empathetic,
nonjudgmental, and have been in the
same situations as our clients.
Mentorship is a gateway for change.
