2. ¿Como se da el modelo?
Surge a partir de la relación que poseen los trabajadores sociales, con personas en estado de crisis y tratan
de mejorar la capacidad de las pacientes para enfrentarse a los problemas que se tiene en la vida.
Este sigue un patrón basado en la inmediatez y en la rapidez del proceso, y es que son terapias breves en
las que se busca superar el problema y recuperar el equilibrio emocional cuanto antes.
El trabajador social lo que hace es ofrecer consejo durante un periodo de tiempo en el que la persona puede
verse paralizada. También le puede costar tomar las decisiones correctas.

La teoría y la metodología de la inte
rvención en crisis fue desarrollada
por la psiquiatría americana cuyo
s autores de referencia son Erich
Lindemann (1944) y Gerald Capla
n (1964)
las situaciones de crisis suelen requerir, por lo general, una
respuesta inmediata y consejo por parte de los profesionales
dentro de un periodo corto de tiempo; por ello este tipo de int
ervención se suele clasificar dentro de las denominadas ter
apias breves de intervención

los trabajadores sociales se desenvu
elve en permanente contacto con
personas en estado de crisis. Toda
persona, grupo o familia.

apoya
El trabajador social está dotado de mayor po
der y autoridad en este modelo de intervenc
ión, ya que posee una mayor capacidad de
directividad que la que le atribuyen otros m
odelos. Este mayor poder lo otorga la propia
situación de crisis, que pone al individuo en
una situación de confusión y de desequilibrio
que a menudo le incapacita para tomar dec
isiones correctas. La autoridad del trabajado
r social debe ser utilizada en los momentos en
los que el cliente se encuentre más confuso
y desestabilizado.
