5. Participant Introductions
If you do not know your participants (and the audience
size is less than 20), here are some suggestions:
• Go around room and have each participant
introduce themselves
• Divide participants into pairs and ask them to
conduct interviews with each other
• Divide participants into pairs and have each share
their favorite food, animal, etc.
• Ask each participant to share 3 things that make
them “unique” (i.e., travel, size of family, etc.)
• Check pages 116-117 in text for other ideas

• An introduction lasting longer than 60 seconds
• Someone “ad-libbing” your introduction
• Starting with “I started school at 4 years old
and then…”
• Someone starting your introduction before you
are ready
