PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am hard working individual. I have been working hard since the age of 16 with a range of skills. With
each new job or experience I tackle it head on and work very hard.
As a person I believe that I’m a very approachable and easy to get along with. I adapt how I act to the
people I am interacting with, by doing this I have been able to connect with different people from different
walks of life.
I have never be one to shy away from working long hours and always up for a challenge, trying new things
builds my character and helps me find things I can improve on.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Riders junior School- (2 weeks) April 2010
The skills and qualities I got from this school work experience was how to handle children and my roles
and restrictions I had for example I learnt that it wasn’t my role to meet with parents and fill out forums but
I was to watch the children and report and incidents. Some restrictions I had was basic child safety e.g. I
wasn’t to pick a child up (unless necessary) or to attend medical treatment on them.
Shoe Zone – 26th
August 2011-January 2014
The skills and qualities I obtained from this job are people/communication skills because I have to
communicate with different types of people and understand what they want. Organisation because we have
a stock room and we all have to keep it in order so we know where to find a shoe. And I also learnt how to
handle money and work the till.
Flying Bull nursery School- (2 months) October-December 2011
Like working in riders I improved on the skills and qualities that they gave me and also built on some more
e.g. how to fill out certain forums and how to plan and undertake a lesson for the children witch improves
my organisation skills, also working with children and then talking to adults helped me improve how to
communicate with different people of different ages and mind set.
Imperial Palace- October 2013- October 2014
The skills I have learnt and still learning from this job is being able to communicate to those who don’t
speak English (Chinese restaurant), answering the phones and taking peoples orders, my memory has
improves as I have to learn what’s on the menu and answer any questions people have about the meal. At
the moment it is my role to work behind the bar answering the phones and making drinks for customers,
I’m being trained to waitress so I’m able to help more my servings drinks to the customers and occasionally
their food, I think I help a lot as we are a team and if one person slacks it effects everyone else.
Jade Garden- January 2015-April 2015
Even though I was here for a short time (also worked for 2 weeks in September 2015 to help out). I was
working 6 days a week for long hours, by my third week there I was trusted to open and close the
restaurant, handle the banking and order the drinks for behind the bar. Along with these duties I was also a
waitress (most night only one on the floor) being a waitress includes serving the customers in the
restaurant, making/serving drinks from the bar and dealing the take-away/walk in orders. Most nights it
would be quiet enough for me to do this all myself, other nights I would have someone on the bar/phone
while I deal with customers. Because I would open and close the restaurant I would be the first one in so I
would get a chance to clean the restaurant (including the toilets) this wasn’t always asked of me but if I
didn’t do it then it wouldn’t get done at all. I very much enjoyed working there as I got to know all my
customers personally (due to it being small and mainly me serving them).
2. Red Lion- May 2015-September 2015
Again I was here for a short time, but in that short time I was working a Monday morning manager; this
meant that I would have to get in for 5:30am check the whole restaurant (that it is clean, tables set up, tills
are on) I would have to set up the whole breakfast buffet. Again I would work long hours here and work a
5/6-day week. I learnt fast here; different till system, table numbers and also working a full bar.
Tate Technical November 2015-December 2015
I work as receptionist here, which was a completely new experience for me, I picked up on how things
worked in the office fast, I was completing task so fast they was starting to run out of things for me to do
there. I brought some things to the office; my personality (talking to other office workers and ensuring they
are alright that day), being helpful (I would regularly go to each office asking if I could help them with
their workload) also I helped organise their filing system and the archive room.
JDW Weatherspoons March 2016-Current
Here I’m working as a kitchen assistant; I haven’t had any previous kitchen experience (other than at home)
but dispite that I worked hard and am now a key member of the team. I continue to learn and improve
myself.
