- Responsible for granting funds and setting policy for the Advancing Informal Science Learning (AISL), the
Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) and the Promoting Research and
Innovation for Methodologies in Evaluation (PRIME) programs. Managed a portfolio of projects totaling
approximately $15 million. Responsibilities included contributing to the development of program policies and
solicitations, convening experts for peer review panels, writing review analyses, making funding decisions for
projects averaging $3 million each, and grants management for funded projects.
- Led and coordinated evaluation initiatives for the Division. Facilitate other Program Directors to determine scope
and focus of program level evaluations for the five programs housed in the Division. Developed statements of work
and contracted the appropriate evaluation expertise to design and implement the evaluation. Worked with others in
the Directorate and Agency who conduct and manage program evaluations to ensure quality control. Managed
evaluation contracts for the Division, totaling more than $13 Million.
- Upon returning to EDC, regularly invited to serve on review panels, attend and present at thought leader meetings
at NSF.

- Raised $350,000 annually through door-to-door outreach to support rape crisis counseling and educational
programs.
- Supervised field managers and canvassers, coordinated Canvass operations, payroll, budget management,
recruitment and ongoing training of canvassers, and program development.
- Assisted agency staff within the organization; supervised ten volunteers’ case consultations; answered crisis calls as
needed and participated as a member of the program staff in the development and implementation of SVC’s long
term program objectives.

Outreach Educator
Targeted injecting drug users and their partners as a member of first HIV/AIDS prevention outreach team in Minnesota
directed at this population. Outreach included talking to people on the street, in shelters and in bars about clean needle
use, risk reduction and safer sex.

Dissertation Title: Representational Form and Audience Understanding in Evaluation: Advancing Use and Engaging
Postmodern Pluralism Building on previous research and representational experimentation in the fields of sociology,
anthropology and evaluation, this multi-faceted qualitative study used the interaction between the presentation of
evaluation findings and audience as the focal point to thoughtfully inform the practice of evaluation, and in particular, the
possible link between representational format of findings and audience understanding and evaluation use.
