How to Get to Ijen: From Bali, Surabaya,
and Yogyakarta
• Getting to Kawah Ijen from Bali
You must leave Bali at night. Try to arrive at Ketapang Port before midnight. If you
leave from Denpasar at 6:00 p.m., it will take about three hours to reach Gilimanuk Port.
Night travel is usually relatively quiet and smooth. With a transit time of approximately 1
