4. INTRODUCTION
Infinite Industries is a plastic upcycling company based in
East Boksburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Founded in 2007, by
Hugo and Maggie Infante, Infinite Industries has developed a
proprietary process that enables the company to manufacture
robust and durable plastic boards out of traditionally
unrecyclable materials.
The business sources raw materials - including plastic bottles,
toothpaste tubes, rubber tyres, tetrapaks, plastic bags, plastic
labels, and other plastic waste - from a combination of
industrial partners and private suppliers, and converts them
into low-cost building materials, school desks, signage and
more.
Infinite Industries sets itself apart by owning a unique and
protected process that enables us to use materials deemed
unrecyclable and convert them into building materials and other
useful products. These materials are in turn used to solve
several major problems facing South Africa, including
reduction of plastic waste, the production of affordable housing
and school desks, while simultaneously generating revenue.

7. 2.1 OVERVIEW
Plastic upcycling is the process of recovering
scrap or waste plastic and reprocessing the
material into useful products. Traditionally,
plastic polymer recycling is a major challenge,
both functionally and economically, due to the
low density and low value of the material.
This is further exacerbated by many of the
technical challenges involved in the process.
For instance, when different types of plastics
are melted together, they tend to phase-
separate, like oil and water, and set in these
layers. The phase boundaries cause structural
weakness in the resulting material, meaning
that polymer blends are useful in only limited
applications. The two most widely
manufactured plastics - polypropylene and
polyethylene - behave this way, which limits
their utility for recycling.
Infinite Industries, however, has developed a
unique and protected method that enables us to
process and recycle almost any waste plastic
cost-effectively and at scale, converting it into
useful and useable materials.
2.2 THE PROBLEM
The majority of plastic types are essentially non-
biodegradable, thus having a major and
detrimental impact on the environment and
natural ecosystems. For instance, a plastic
bottle will take up to 450 years to break down, a
plastic straw 200 years, and a plastic toothbrush
will take almost 500 years.
Every year, the world produces over 300 million
tons of plastic, or which approximately 8 million
metric tons of waste plastic enters the Earth's
oceans every year. This plastic pollution results
in the deaths of over 100 million ocean animals
annually. Only 8% of plastic in the US is recycled
every year, while in South Africa 26.8 million
tons of plastic was discarded in landfills in 2017.
Plastic pollution is a major problem.
At the same time, many emerging markets
globally, and South Africa in particular, face a
crucial need for affordable building materials to
help uplift and affordably house impoverished
communities. Similarly, many low-income
community schools, both globally and locally,
face a critically shortage of school desks.

manufacturers who are obligated to
dispose of their plastic waste without
impacting the environment. These
manufacturers often pay for the
ethical disposal of their plastic waste.
On the other side of the market are
customers, the end users who
purchase products manufactured by
plastic recyclers, in this case private
and public sector builders, property
developers and schools.
Infinite Industries has developed
several new sales channels aside
from those listed above, including
corporate, retail, and other customers
who purchase our products for use as
signage, art and other applications.
2.3 THE SOLUTION
Recycling and upcycling can play a
crucial role in reducing the amount of
plastic in the waste stream, having a
positive impact on the environment
while simultaneously creating a
sustainable, circular production

Infinite Industries’ revenue model is
relatively simple. We take plastic
waste products that are supplied to
us free of charge and use this waste
as raw material to manufacture our
products. These products are then
sold in volume and at profitable
margins to our broad base of
customers.
Most of our customers pre-order
from us contractually, reducing our
risk, assisting with cash flow
management, and enabling us to
optimise production.

dedicated, ring-fenced, debt-
remote company registered under
the laws of the Republic of South
Africa - will purchase the sale

MATERIAL SUPPLY
With 26.8 million tons of plastic
dumped in South African landfills
annually, we have an almost unlimited
supply of raw materials, ensuring we
can operate sustainably and in
perpetuity, and in a circular business
model.
This is further supported by a recent
amendment to the National
Environmental Management’s Waste
Act that will require all plastic
manufacturers to ensure the collection
of 70% of the plastic they produce,
presenting a huge opportunity for
Infinite Industries.
We also operate a zero waste model,

At the same time, escalating levels of
plastic waste and pollution is having a

OVERVIEW
Founded in 2007, Infinite Industries has
established itself as a leading and
respected plastic upcycling company. Our
factory is located in Boksburg East on a
1,600m2 plot in a 1,300m2 building. We
employ 14 people and have various
machinery and assets within the factory.
Our production facility consists of four
main sections. The first is our delivery and
storage section, where our industrial
suppliers deliver their bulk plastic waste
into our storage space. The second is our
granulation section where our team feeds
the plastic waste into granulation
machines.
The third section is our production section,
where our team sorts the shipped and
shredded plastic and runs it through our
proprietary manufacturing process to
produce compacted plastic boards.

This is great news for plastic recyclers,
ensuring an unlimited supply of cheap,
free or even income-generating raw
materials, as well as a ravenous and
rapidly growing market. This market is
becoming more aware of the negative
impact of plastic waste, so are shifting
purchase decisions more to recycled
plastic products.
This is further backed by legislation, with
a recent amendment to the National

revenue model generating income through
two avenues:
4.6.1. SALE OF PRODUCTS
Like most manufacturers, Infinite Industries
generates income through the sale of
products (boards, building materials, school
desks, etc) to a mix of corporate, public
sector and consumer markets. This is
further supported by the allocation of CSI
budgets that many corporates will use to
purchase Infinite Industries products.
4.6.2. COLLECTION OF WASTE
Currently, Infinite Industries is not paid to
collect and dispose of waste, but is given
this waste for free. But the opportunity
exists to collect fees from corporate clients

Plastic recycling and upcycling refers to the process of
recovering waste or scrap plastic and reprocessing the
materials into functional and useful products. The goal of
recycling and upcycling plastic is to reduce high rates of plastic
pollution while putting less pressure on virgin materials to
produce brand new plastic products. This approach helps to
conserve resources and diverts plastics from landfills or
unintended destinations like our oceans and rivers.
Plastics are durable, lightweight and inexpensive materials.
They can readily be moulded into various products which find
uses in a plethora of applications. Every year, more than 100
million tons of plastics are manufactured across the globe.
Consequently, the reuse, recovery and the recycling of plastics
are extremely important.
There are six forms of primary plastics, Polystyrene (PS),
Polypropylene (PP), Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE),
Plasticised Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), High-Density Polyethylene
(HDPE), and Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET). Traditionally,
only PET, HDPE, and PVC plastic products are recycled, but
Infinite Industries has developed a revolutionary heating
technique that enables us to recycle almost any plastic, as well
as Tetra Pak materials and rubber tyres.

5.2 RAW MATERIALS
We use a wide range of raw materials, all waste products
that would otherwise end up in landfill or nature. The
majority of our raw materials are sourced from corporate
manufacturers who need to dispose of overruns, misprints
and other faulty materials from their production lines.
The rest is sourced from waste collectors, pickers and
sorters who retrieve plastic waste destined for landfill.
Our raw materials include plastic bottles, plastic bags,
plastic toothpaste tubes, plastic lids, plastic labels, tetra
paks, rubber tyres and more. Our factory also runs as a zero
waste facility, reprocessing all offcuts, defective and waste
materials created by our own manufacturing process.
5.3 PRODUCTS - PLASTIC BOARDS
Our base products are compacted plastic boards which can
be used for various executions, or cut, shaped and moulded
into other products.
In their basic form, our boards are being used for signage
and advertising. These boards are incredibly resilient, as
well as being fire- and heat-proof, making them the ideal
product for dozens of uses.

5.3.1 PRODUCTS - PREFABRICATED
WALLS, UNITS AND HOUSES
We have developed a system that enables our products
to be used to build prefabricated walls, small units
(such as storage huts, and even entire homes, quickly,
conveniently and cost-effectively. Our products enable
a small house to be built for as little as R30,000.
5.3.2 PRODUCTS - ROOFING
In addition to our prefabricated walls, our boards can
be moulded to create corrugated roofing panels,
offering a cheaper, more robust, fireproof and eco-
friendly alternative to traditional roofing products.
5.3.3 PRODUCTS - TRENCH COVERS
Our boards make ideal trench covers, combining
strength and durability that lasts. Laid over electric
cables, plumbing and other pipes, the boards serve as
both protection of the cables/pipes from future digging,
and visual warnings about the materials below.
5.3.4 PRODUCTS - SCHOOL DESKS
There is a critical shortage of school desks in South
Africa, and throughout many emerging countries. Our
boards can be easily fitted to metal frames to create
affordable, functional and durable school desks.

AND SIGNAGE
The demand for durable and eco-friendly
advertising and signage products is
growing exponentially. Our boards are the
perfect product to meet this demand, and
we are gaining great traction in this space.

We have invested in an industrial laser
cutting machine that allows us to cut our
boards into beautiful wall art, and
signage, with all the offcuts being recycled
back into our facility.

31. 6.1 TARGET MARKET
We have a segmented target market located
primarily in Gauteng, but also across South Africa.
Our supplier market consists of various large
corporate manufacturers who produce plastic
products, including Nampak, Unilever, Tetra Pak,
Mpact and others. These manufacturers often have
overruns and errors that result in a lot of plastic
waste - waste which we use as our raw materials.
These manufacturers supply us with free raw
materials, but the opportunity exists to begin
charging them to collect and dispose of their plastic
waste.
Then we have our customer market - end users who
purchase our manufactured goods. This customer
base includes a mix of corporates, developers,
property owners, builders and others in the private
sector, with similar opportunities in the public
sector
Our goal is to corner a large portion of the South
African private and public sector market, and then
expand offshore, producing similar products for the
same target market in other jurisdictions.

OVERVIEW
Infinite Industries does not have many
traditional competitors, as there are
very few plastic recyclers
manufacturing affordable building
materials, school desks, and signage.
In this regard we are mainly
competing with existing traditional
suppliers of these products, and we
have a distinct advantage being able to
compete on price, durability and
environmental impact.
When it comes to competing for
access to raw materials, this is not a
concern, as there is an abundance of
plastic waste available, plus we are
able to recycle and upcycle many
materials and plastics that our
competitors can not.

Hugo is the founder and visionary driving Infinite Industries.
Cutting his teeth as an importer and installer of flooring
products, Hugo became fascinated by the concept of plastic
recycling and upcycling, and the various ways waste could
be turned into useable products. This was further
encouraged by his passion for upliftment and
transformation.
Innovative and creative, Hugo was able to pioneer the new
plastic upcycling technique that has formed the core of

Upon a successful raise, a special
purpose vehicle (SPV) - which is a
dedicated, ring-fenced, debt-remote
company registered under the laws of
the Republic of South Africa - will
purchase the sale share on behalf of
shareholders. Shareholders will be
issued shares in the SPV. The Azuza VC
will manage the SPV and shareholding
on behalf of investors.
