Logan Morton is recommended for a position based on his exceptional performance in a summer internship. During the internship, Logan worked on several projects involving brain monitoring, developing behavioral tests, and designing response devices for testing cognition related to traumatic brain injury. Logan quickly grasped complex concepts, worked independently, and produced outstanding results with minimal guidance. The recommender is confident that Logan will be an asset to any team.

Dear Colleagues,
It is my pleasure to recommend Logan Morton for a position with your company. Logan first came to
my attention through a mutual acquaintence with whom I am working on development of a new
organization to advance research on traumatic brain injury. As you are aware, Logan is completing his
degree in engineering, with special interest in biomechanics and biomedical engineering, two key areas
in understanding trauma induced brain damage. After talking with Logan and reviewing his resume, I
offered him a summer internship at the Mind Research Network. Logan joined my team in June of
2015, and proved to be a remarkable asset during his brief stay between semmesters.
I engaged Logan on several projects which included (1) collection and analyses of data from advanced
brain monitoring methods (electroencephalography and magnetoencephalography), (2) development of
behavioral test paradigms for exploring how non-invasive vagal nerve stimulation can improve memory
and learning, and (3) design of response devices for testing cognition before and after induction of mild
traumatic brain injury in an animal model. In all aspects, Logan’s performance was exemplary. He
quickly grasped complex and new concepts. With minimal discussion of project goals and some basic
training, he was able to work independently to produce outstanding results.
Logan is bright and personnable, and I am confident he will prove to be an asset to your team. I
recommend him highly, without any reservations. Feel free to contact me directly should you have any
additional questions.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey David Lewine, Ph.D.
