This portfolio was created by Lorena Aguagüiña, a student in the English Language Teaching program at the Universidad Técnica de Ambato in Ecuador. The portfolio contains evidence that addresses five elements: (1) analyzing websites for reliability, (2) creating a Diigo account to bookmark websites, (3) preparing an English language lesson plan, (4) exploring Web 2.0 tools for language teaching, and (5) creating a virtual learning environment using Edmodo. PERFIL DE EGRESO DE LICENCIATURA
Al concluir el ciclo de licenciatura los estudiantes habrán desarrollado la competencia comunicativa a un nivel C1-C2 y
además demostrarán manejo competente de métodos y estrategias metodológicas para la enseñanza del idioma
inglés, las mismas que se sujetan a las exigencias del Teaching Knowledge Test, (TKT), test de acreditación
internacional para la enseñanza del inglés. Además los egresados habrán fortalecido las siguientes competencias:
Comprender el comportamiento social, intelectual y psicológico del individuo enfocado en el ámbito educativo.
Asesorar a docentes en las áreas de lingüística, metodología y técnicas para el desarrollo de programas, material
didáctico, investigación de aula y diseño de planes y programas de estudio.
Utilizar métodos y técnicas para la investigación en el aula.
Diseñar programas de cursos específicos y sus respectivos materiales didácticos.
Elaboración de material didáctico mediante la utilización NTIC´s.
Transformar el contexto educativo a través de la práctica de valores.
Generar escenarios de aprendizaje significativo dando lugar a la investigación participativa, el trabajo en equipo y
la toma de decisiones.
Manejar las Leyes y Reglamentos de Educación Ecuatoriana.

6. STATEMENT OF PERSONAL LEARNING GOALS.
English language is one of the most spoken widely language around the world. I choose at
“Carrera the Idiomas” because I consider the English is very important to know in order to
communicate with others. Also, I can find more opportunities to find a good job. This carrier
offers me a quality of education in the area of English. On the other hand, when I finish the
carrier I will get a bachelor as an English Teacher.
In this semester my goal is to use the technology in the classroom on order to make the
class more interesting. On the other hand, I have to make an effort in order to achieve my aim
in this subject. Also, the participation in class is really important because the teacher can
provide me some feedback when I can´t use the tools in a good way. It can help me to improve
the management of a class. Another goal is to coming prepared to class for different activities
develop for the teacher.
I will achieve my goals making an effort such as paying attention in class, participation in
class, coming prepared for the classes, bringing all the materials necessaries for the class. It
will help me to be ready more about technology and the appositive aspect that each tool has.
Also, with these goals I can be more interesting to learn the language that for me is really
important to know.
However, I will do every day a self-evaluation to see the progress in the subject. Also, I can
distribute my time in order to check everything about all the classes. Then, I can start to
develop the activities that the book has and start to practice reading at home. In, technology
is very useful for education because students can be interested in learning the language.

COMPETENCE TO BE DEVELOPED IN THIS MODULE.
Use the Internet and multimedia resources to research and update knowledge for learning and
teaching English.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Describe evaluation criteria used to critically analyse the content of Web pages.
Identify and bookmark free online journals and Web sites about language skills, grammar,
functions, pronunciation and other linguistic and methodological aspects of English language
learning and teaching.
Develop technology enhanced lesson plans using Internet resources to promote authentic
language learning and assessment of the EFL learner’s communicative competence.
Experiment the use of different Web 2.0 tools to teach and assess the English communicative
competence using collaborative, problem -and project- based learning approaches.
Create effective teaching and assessment materials as well as online virtual environments for
their EFL classroom.

This module takes into account the ICT Competency Standards for Teachers developed by
UNESCO.

STUDENT SELF-REFLECTION ON EVIDENCE 1
In this element I had to analyze two websites. It
consisted in choose tow websites in order to identify
if each one of this had reliable information.
First, this element helped me a lot because I could
identify web sites and know if there were
commercials, somebody website, if they had
copyright, something that could permit us to know
where the information comes from.
Second, when I was doing this exercise I wanted to
achieve my objective that was to know and to
identify reliable information from sites on the
internet.
Finally, I would like to know more about this topic
because this information was very useful for me. In
the future I can know how to choose a good web site
in order to teach my class. Also, I would like to have
a good classroom management using technology in
class.
9. INTERNET AND MULTIMEDIA ELEMENT 2
STUDENT SELF-REFLECTION ON EVIDENCE 1
In this element I had to create a diigo account. It is a
bookmaker in which people can save web pages. In Diigo
account we can put tags in order to find easier the web site.
First, this element helped me a lot because I could
learn about this site in which I could save reliable
information from good web sites. It will be very useful in
order to improve my language.
Finally, Diigo is a tool very useful for using in
education. I would like to know more about this topic
because these sites help us a lot in order to save good
websites that are useful for teching.

STUDENT SELF-REFLECTION ON EVIDENCE 1
In this element I had to prepare a class. As a
topic of our presentation was about teaching
fruits. The level for this class was for children
from 9/10 years.
Besides, the objective of the class was
students will be able to tell the names of fruits
and their colors by distinguish them trough
flash cards.
In conclusion, this presentation was very
useful because we had an idea how to teach a
class. The importance of preparing a class and
the of objective that we applied for the
students.
11. INTERNET AND MULTIMEDIA ELEMENT 4

WEB 2.0
This evidence was about web 2.0 tools that was
very useful for teaching a class. Also, those tools
allow people to interact with each other and share
their ideas about any kind of topic.
Besides , we have some tools such as facebook,
Edmodo, kl12 lesson plans , podomatic, mappy
friends, diggo ect. They are really useful in
education in order to develop a class.
In conclusion, web 2.0 are very useful for education
and have any positive aspects. They useful for
many things.

STUDENT SELF-REFLECTION ON EVIDENCE 1
This evidence was about to create our virtual learning
environment with the tools that we studied in the others
elements. I chose EDMODO in order to develop my class
I included this evidence because EDMODO platform in
which I can develop a lot of activities in order to apply in the
class. Also, it is good because it provides teachers and
students a secure place to connect and collaborate, share
content and educational applications, and access
homework, grades, class discussions and notifications.
In conclusion, I would like to use this virtual environment in
the future because it allows students to improve their
language every single day with the activities that I can
assign them using this tool.
