DESCRIPTION OF PRESENT POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
My position responsibilities include:
• coordinate student teaching placements for pre-student and student teaching interns
• advise students and provide information on program policies, procedures, and
requirements
• assist in creating the OCE handbooks for pre-student, student teaching, mentor teachers,
and field instructors;
• assist in OCE orientations (pre-student and student teaching orientations) and e-portfolio
seminars (pre-student and student teaching) each academic semester
• coordinate schedule of classes offered through OCE
• coordinate field instructor contracts for pre-student and student teaching
• coordinate school sites for the course TED 2250: Introduction to Urban Education assist
in coordinating professional development seminars for field instructors
• coordinate professional development technology seminars for field instructors which
includes use of Blackboard, Academica, iPads, and other digital tools
• create and maintain OCE documents and forms; liaison with Academic Services; review
on-the-job pre-student and student teaching appeals
• process and distribute regulation codes for the elementary state exam
• audit students’ program files, including MTTC, TB test, GPA, 90% course work, for
student teaching, PRE, reading course, and methods course for pre-student teaching,
CRC, iChat, TB test for service learning volunteers
• maintain compliance with Michigan Department of Education requirements
