1. Join our 'Resilient Leader' programme - April 2017
It can be difficult when dealing with every-day stressors. Things can be overwhelming
and challenge us to find ways to manage these each day. That’s why it is important to
find healthy and adaptive solutions to help us cope more effectively and to deal with
these.
Resilience is what gives people the psychological and physical strength to cope with
stress and calamity. You may know resilient individuals. They are often the ones who are
better able to handle adversity, cope and rebuild. They may also be people you know
who just seem to handle smaller, day-to-day stressors better. It is referred to by some
as the ability to 'bounce back'.
Resilient people are usually aware of their situation, their own emotional reactions and
behaviours, and the behaviours of those around them. This awareness allows them to
maintain control of their situation and find new ways to deal and cope with their
challenges. They are also able to stay on top of their problems and become more
proactive before situations become too overwhelming.
People who are more resilient also understand that life is full of challenges, and that
sometimes this cannot be avoided. These individuals are open, flexible and willing to
adapt to change and find appropriate ways to cope.
While some people are more resilient than others, it’s important and exciting to note that
we can all increase our resilience.
Our Resilient Leader programme here at The Beech Centre is applicable to anyone and
beneficial to all; in particular those responsible for managing and developing the
performance of others within organisations and individuals, business owners and leaders
who want to enhance performance in challenging times by:
Understanding the nature of stressors and challenges and how you respond
Investigating your own measure of 'Mental Toughness' and how it links
to resilience through completion of an online questionnaire (MTQ48)
Learning how to access a 'tool kit' for helping you to build resilience
Discovering how to create and sustain effective habits to manage stress
and achieve peak performance.
Our next Resilient Leader programme here at The Beech Centre will be held on the 19th
and 20th April 2017
