Consoles history timeline 1

   Magnavox odyssey - 1972 - was the world first commercial video games console. The console
    was poorly marketed and had been took of the market within a year. The technology had an
    issue to where it was only capable of generating a few images on the screen and only
    compatible on some televisions.

   Wonder wizard -1976

   Atari VCS 2600 -1977 – sold over 30 millions consoles. The Atari VCS was known as the third
    television within a few years of it being out where it was such a huge hit. Even after new and
    more advanced consoles had been released the VCS was still very popular.

   Coleco telstar alpha – 1978

   Zircon channel F system II -1979 – the console was sold for $169.99. The consoles name was
    changed on release because the owners thought the name was too similar to another console
    called the ‘Atari VCS’. Atari has enhanced there gaming because they felt this console had
    competition.
   Epoch TV Vader – 1980 – manufactured by ‘Epach’. Had 4 or 5 built in games and had an external power source.

   Atari 5200 Super System – 1982 – Has a ROM Cartridge. The controller input is a joystick and trak – ball.
    Second generation console.

   Epoch Super Cassette Vision – 1984 – manufactured by ‘Epoch Co.’, The price of the console is ¥13,500 and has
    input controllers.

   Atari 7800 – 1986 – is $140, 3.77 million sales in north America. 4KB RAM and has 48KB built in ROM space.

   Atari Lynx/Lynx II – 1989 – manufactured by ‘Atari Corporation’. It is a handheld console. 5 million consoles
    where brought. You could play online in a game that had 18 players in the game.
   Commodore 64 games system – 1990 – Manufactured by ‘Commodore International’. It was only released in
    Europe and was a commercial failure.

   NEC Turbo DUO – 1992 – Manufactured by ‘NEC’ and ‘Hudson Soft’. The price of the console was $299.99.the
    input is a gamepad.

   Sega Genesis II – 1994 – sold between 37 million and 41 million consoles. Manufactured by ‘Sega'. The most
    played game on this console was ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’.

   Nintendo 64 – 1996 – Manufactured by ‘Nintendo’. Sold 37 million consoles.

   Sega genesis III – 1998 -
   PlayStation 2 – 2000 – 153 million consoles sold with other combined models of the PlayStation 2. the consoles
    graphics where 147.456 MHz. The best selling game on the ‘PS2’ was ‘Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’.
    Manufactured by ‘Sony’.

   IQue Player – 2003 – Manufactured by ‘IQue’. The console was sold at ¥498, had 4MB memory. Dr. Mario64 was
    the most played game on the console.

   V.Smile – 2005 – Manufactured by ‘Vtech’ was made to play ‘Scooby Doo’ gam. Had memory on a ROM
    Cartridge. Could have 2 players play at a time.
 2012-Playstation Vita
                      – sold 2.2million to
 date – Has quad core processor graphics
