BECHTEL - SUPERINTENDENT - MONTREAL, CANADA 2010-2011
Participated in the feasibility study for a major brownfield development of expansion to (IOC/Rio Tinto).
A design/build plant expansion of value over $220 M. The work scope was steel, concrete, piping,
mechanical, process & electrical for 19,500 sq. ft 3 - story commercial building. This involved design
reviews with eng. team, input into the estimating, scheduling and constructability of the design with the
home office team which included: Owner’s Representatives, Architects, Engineers, contracts,
procurement, consultants, projects controls, and upper mgmt. During feasibility stage, evaluated several
bid selection packages for the structural steel & concrete work packages of 3-story steel building. Acting
as ‘Site Superintendent’, successfully managed and organized this field work onsite. Also, had to oversee
mechanical installation by TIC Millright craft for precise installation of Ball Mill and other equipment.
BECHTEL - SUPERINTENDENT - SANTIAGO, CHILE 2008-2009
Managed the installation of camp facilities / government housing infrastructure to accommodate 1,400
people. Complete coordination with client and subcontractors to install 9 buildings over 5 acres. Specific
role was contract administration in the field of $6 M work package for campsite installation. Including:
project controls, scheduling, monitoring conditions, organizing work of 7 subcontractors/manpower
projections, interfacing with client and zero-tolerance safety execution. Daily worked with Contract
Manager to review, administer and write up construction contracts for subcontractors. Including: conflict
resolution for discrepancies & errors and omissions from plans. Coordinated with Chilean Army and
Military officials as well as City and Government leaders in order to install tie- ins for all new and existing
utilities from neighboring military base. We encountered many unforeseen conditions such as: Indian
human remains, archeological craftwork, buried military explosive munitions, etc. These efforts provided
effective problem solving solutions to resolve onsite operational issues per client’s request.
POINTE OF VIEW DEVELOPMENT - OWNERS REPRESENTATIVE - SAN DIEGO, CA 2007
Responsible for coordination of all aspects of project implementation in the field for the construction of 48
floor Hi-Rise & Mixed-Use Condominium Tower (of cast-in place- concrete). Contract value of $240 M
(as the Owner/Prime Contractor). Consisted of 8 levels subterranean parking (deep excavation &
shoring) with mixed - use on floors 1 & 2. Assigned to constructability reviews of plans/documents to
ensure accuracy and practicality of design team. Ensured that this work was put into place according to
design changes and contracted scope of work. Covered civil service utilities, manpower (labor oversight)
and value engineering for superiors and overall safety mitigation.
WASHINGTON GROUP - FIELD ENGINEER/SUPERINTENDENT - SAN DIEGO, CA 2005 - 2006
SR-125 ( Design/Build ) 13-mile toll road/highway. Included: bridges, tunnels, blasting, crusher facility for
aggregate; executed as a Design/Build contract - $900 M. Served as field representative to senior
project manager with office engineer ( as my assistant ) by providing supervision and coordination in
construction of toll road plaza with subterranean tunnel; contract value of $4.5 M work package. Primary
role was to manage 8 subcontractors by: monitoring field conditions as an interdisciplinary team leader to
effectively coordinate in conjunction with civil roadway team in order to meet baseline schedule and
resolve onsite operational problems such as budgetary issues and safety policy implementation, progress
reports, claims assistance and recordkeeping.
