2. Introduction
• UCP of Central Florida serves
children with all types of special
needs.
• East Orange/Bailes campus has 21
• The campus provides onsite
therapy and resources.
3. History
• Founded in 1949 by parents of children with
Cerebral Palsy – hence the name United
Cerebral Palsy.
• UCP now offers services to children with all
types of disabilities and children without
disabilities.
• UCP is committed believes in inclusion in
every aspect of life.
4. Engagement Ativities
• Volunteered through UCP’s extended day
program.
• Had 4 visits to the campus.
• Assisted TAs and LTAs throughout daily
routine
• Circle Time
• Snack
• Playground
• Centers
6. IDEA
• Exceptionalities include
– ASD, “A child who manifests the characteristics of autism after age three could
be identified as having autism …criteria in paragraph (c)(1)(i).”
– ADHD, “Other health impairment means having … a heightened alertness to
environmental stimuli, that results in limited alertness with respect to the
educational environment.”
– CP“ Orthopedic impairment means a severe orthopedic impairment that
adversely affects a child's educational performance.”
