I am pleased to inform you of a scholarship opportunity from the
Kaplan Educational Foundation that you may be eligible to apply.
Four years ago, BMCC partnered with the Kaplan Educational Foundation
and as a result, BMCC students have been selected to participate in the
program every year for the past three years. We are partnering with
Kaplan again this year and hope to add to the fourth cohort of Kaplan
Leadership Scholars from BMCC.
The Program is called The Kaplan Leadership Program and is designed
for promising students, like you, who are pursuing an associate's
degree and desire to transfer to a bachelors program immediately upon
completion of associates degree. The award begins while you work
towards your associate's degree at BMCC and the financial assistance
and other support will continue after you transfer to a four year
college or university to pursue a bachelor's degree.
In addition to the scholarship funds, the program benefits include
leadership development and training, individualized advising and
preparation for the transfer process to a bachelor's degree program.
In an effort to help you prepare to apply for this prestigious scholar-
ship, we are announcing this early so that, you will get all the
information and be ready to apply when it becomes available in
November.
Please be advised, that there will be an information session which will
be held on November 18 at 5:30p.m. in room N-411 and November 19, at
at 2:00p.m. in room S-706.
