Matrimony Chapter 15 By Madison Williams
What is Matrimony A covenant or partnership of life between a man or Women, which is ordered to the well-being of the spouses and to the procreation and upbringing of children. When validly contracted between two baptized people, marriage.
Matrimony A sacrament at the service communion that bins man and women in a covenant for life. Signifies the union of Christ and his people.
Effects of Matrimony Permanent bonds between the spouses Christ gives a state of grace to married couples that helps them keep their marital promises When sex is between husband and wife it is a good and noble thing.
Celebration of Marriage A couple should receive the sacrament of reconciliation prior to marriage. Marriage is formed when the couple exchanges promises to give themselves mutually and freely to each other. To form a valid bond, both man and women must consent to a permanent in dissoluble union.
Sins against marriage Contraception- deliberate interference with marital Adultery- acts of marriage between a married person and a party other then his or her spouse. Divorce- an action that claims to break a valid marital bond. Polygamy-the state or institution of an individual contracting more then one marriage. Trial marriage- the state of a man and women living together in a relationship that involves sexual intimacy outside of marriage. Concubinage- that state of a man and women living together in a relationship that involves sex outside of marriage.
References (Gn 2:18) says marriage was created because God saw that it was not good for man to be alone. The marriage convent, by which a man and a woman form with each other an intimate communion of life and love, has been founded and endowed with its own special laws by the Creator. By its very nature it is ordered to the good of the couple, as well as to the generation and education of children, Christ the Lord raised marriage between the baptized to the dignity of a sacrament. (CCC 1660)
Who can receive the sacrament Baptized man and women Not under constraint Not impeded by any natural or ecclesiastical law
