Powere what have you learnt about technologies from the.pptx evalll
1. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT
TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE
PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING
THIS PRODUCT?
2. WHAT HAVE WE LEARNT?
We have learnt about new software’s and how to
use different types of technology in order to
construct our media product. Some members of our
group were less familiar in using the editing
software and the camera, therefore we gave people
roles which played to their strengths but also
challenging targets so that we all improved in our
knowledge of how to use certain things.
3. WHAT TYPES OF TECHNOLOGY DID
WE USE?Camera (Canon 60D)- we used the camera to film our media product, Toby did the filming of our media
product as he was the most confident in doing so.
SD card- the SD card was in the camera to store the videos; after we had finished filming we transferred
the videos to the computer.
Mac computer- as a group we found the Mac quite difficult to work from as it has a different set up to a
windows computer, and for me and Clare we had never really used one before. Therefore we had to learn
how it worked which we did and by the end of the product we were capable of using it to a very good
standard. Although Toby was familiar with using Mac so he didn’t find it as difficult as we did, this is
why we gave him the role of doing the effects, and Clare the role of editing, even though we worked
together on the majority of it.
4. We have learnt how to use the camera, how to zoom in, how to turn it on
and off, how to record shots. We have learnt how to use the Macs, how to
save files, how to edit using adobe premiere on the Macs as it was different
from on a windows computer. We learnt the various different types of
editing for example how to change the colour from normal to black and
white; we now know how to do that and how to do other editing things. We
know how to speed up a video and how to make it slower.
All of our skills have developed immensely from the beginning of the
course; the pre-lim task really helped us to understand the adobe premiere
software before we had to do our final product. At the beginning of the
course we was unaware as to how to use adobe premiere and blogger, and
Photoshop due to practising we now know how to use these different
software’s.
5. I Phone- we used an I phone when recording the
Foley sounds by using the voice record app.
Tripod- we used the tripod when filming to get
shots from different angles and heights, this
improved our product as it showed variation and
made our opening flow better.
Photoshop- Photoshop was quite hard software to
get used to at first; we used this to create our film
poster. It took quite a few attempts to get the
poster to the standard we wanted it to be, but we
now know how to use Photoshop and could use it
happily in the future.
MORE TECHNOLOGIES
THAT WE USED
6. SOFTWARE'S
We found all the software's hard to use at the beginning of the course, but after a while we
learnt how to use them and became confident doing so. This widen our knowledge of
software's and helped us to be more creative when presenting work as we had different
ways in which we could present it.
The software's shown below and on the next slides are the ones we mainly used
throughout the process of all of our coursework based media tasks. Such a our pre-lim’s,
and our final product.
7. SLIDE SHARE
Slide share was quite a difficult software to learn how
to use when we first started using it. As we needed to
learn how to embed PowerPoints from our documents
onto slide share then get the embed code which
enabled us to post the PowerPoint on our blog. By the
time we started working on our final product we was
confident with this software, and used it frequently
especially when posting our evaluations. This software
was very helpful for us otherwise we wouldn’t be able
to post PowerPoints on our blog to make it more
creative. In the print screen shown on this slide you
can see that we posted a PowerPoint on slide share,
there is also a photo of the embed code.
8. BLOGGER
At the beginning of the course blogger was a
difficult software to learn to use, but it was vital
for us to quite adapt to the software in order for
us to complete many tasks we were set. All of our
research and planning and evaluations, and the
majority of work we have done for media is on the
blog.
We had to learn how to change the background,
the layout, and various other things about our
blog, so it reached the standard it needed to be.
In one of the screenshot it shows how we change
the background, the width, the layout, the
templates and some advanced adaptations we can
make to our blog.
We also had to learn how to make posts and copy
links over using the HTML section when designing
a post. In the second screenshot it shows the
process of posting a blog post.
We used blogger to post about the planning of
our film opening and we put the video of the film
opening onto our media blogs. We all found
blogger straight forward to use, as we have used
it multiple times.
9. PREZI
We found Prezi a difficult software to use at first
as it was complicated to understand the set up
and how everything worked. We had to learn
how to add images, add text and create a Prezi
from this.
We used Prezi in one of our evaluation questions
of the final product. But we have used it
throughout our various media tasks.
The first screenshot is the home page of Prezi
which shows that you can create various
different types of Prezi’s with different layouts
and backgrounds. The second screenshot is an
example of a layout.
10. EMAZE
We also found emaze hard to use when we started the media
course, as it is different to the original software's such as
power point and word. But emaze is just a fancy version of a
PowerPoint. We used this to upload different blog posts to do
with our media coursework, and when planning our film
product.
On emaze you can emazify your PowerPoint, this therefore
means upload it onto emaze, then you can copy the embed
code once you have posted it on the software. Then copy the
embed code into blogger and post the emaze on there. On
emaze you can add images and text using various different
layouts and upload media files such as videos onto into it.
11. ADOBE PREMIERE
Within the software adobe premiere there were many different techniques you could use to adapt our product which we did
as a group. Although it did take some practice to understand how it all worked and whether it made our product better or
worse.
We also used adobe premiere when creating our dancing bears, this task was mainly to experiment the different effects on
adobe. We used the effect which caused us to have multiple shots of the same screen at the same time, this effect is called
split screen. We also change the lighting, and used different colour schemes such as black and white. We included sounds
of different songs in the background and different videos to make it more interesting. Also we used different effects to
transition from one shot to another such as the dissolve effect. This task really helped us all understand the software, from
this we was more confident in using it when it came to doing the Juno task.
After the dancing bears task we used adobe premiere to do the Juno task, the aim of this was to copy the video exactly how
it is best we can. We used adobe premiere to put the shots together, to adjust the lighting of the shots and to edit them so
they looked like the real Juno music video. Although we was in separate groups for the Juno task we all use the cartoon
effect as it was similar to the music video.
In our prelim task we also used adobe premiere and found new effects which linked to our video such as the lighting effect
helped our video to look like it was all filmed at the same time. Again we was in separate groups in this therefore we all
learnt different things and bought all of our knowledge together when doing the final task.
In our final task we used the black and white effect to show how when you have depression eve thing is just plain black and
white and there is no colour to life. We used the dissolve transition as it made our film opening flow well. We also used the
lighting effect to adjust the colouring of some shots. We used the majority of the effects we had learnt about previously.
12. WHAT WE NEED TO IMPROVE
UPON?
I think we need to improve upon our camera skills as some of the
shots are not in focus, and our film poster could be better than what
it is, therefore more practice on Photoshop would improve that. We
was really happy with our editing skills and how the final product
ended up, but i suppose we could have explored more with the
different types of editing that could have improved our product but
we are still very pleased with it. We also need to improve upon
actually uses the Mac as it was difficult at first but it will improve with
practice.
