  1. 1. Presented By, Dr. M.H. Biradar Associate professor, Head, Department of Agada Tantra & Vyavahara Ayurveda BLDEA’ S AVS Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya Vijayapur.

Introduction  Increased demand of the Ayurvedic medicines, financial reformation and competency have forced to increase the production within short period of time.  This has affected non availability of genuine and particular raw materials used in the preparation of medicine.  It has become regular practice and consideration for substitute other drug in case of non availability of particular drug in a formulation to continue the production.  It affects on therapeutic properties and action of a medicine.
  3. 3. AIM &OBJECTIVES  To know the Bhavana Dravya used in the process.  Analytical study has been conducted on MUKTA SHUKTI BHASMA.

PREPARATION OF MUKTASHUKTI BHASMA:  MATERIALS &METHODS :  Materials for Shodhana: Raw Mukta Shukti, Kanji, hot water  Equipments: Dholayantra,earthen pot,cloth, thread,khalva yantra,Gas stove, Measuring glass, Stick etc.  Method: Shodhana of mukta shukti subjected for swedana in Dola Yantra containing kanji for one yama.
  5. 5.  Materials for Marana: Shodhita Mukta Shukti,Khalwa Yantra,Sharavas,cowdung,pyrometer,cloth,Multhan Mitti.  Method : shodhita mukta shukti was subjected for incineration by using Gajaputa.  Bhavana: After first Puta Mukta Shukti Bhasma divided into two equal portions –subjected to Bhavana of Kumari and Jala respectively.  Incinerated until attain Bhasma Siddhi Lakshanas.

Analytical study of Mukta Shukti Materials :  Raw Mukta Shukti  Shodhita Mukta Shukti  Kumaribhavita Mumukta Shukti Bhasma  Jala Bhavita Mukta Shukti Bhasma METHOD: • Instrumental analytical method.  But with special XRD reports, the particular Bhavana Dravya is used in the process of Mukta Shukti Marana were assessed.

DISCUSSION:  The XRD pattern shows the change in a chemical form and structure.  Aragonite and calcite both are the forms of CaCo3.During the process mineralogical aragonite changes in to calcite on heating.  XRD aragonite form was identified in Shodhita MUKTA SHUKTI. After changed to calcite form.  Orthorombic crystal noted in a raw and Shodhita MUKTA SHUKTI.
  9. 9. COTINUED………  Bhasma shows Trigonal system of crystallization. Changes in the cleavage &fragment shape.  Hardness from 3.5 - 4 reduced to 3 which may be effect of heat.  Chemically CaCo3 converted into CaO during Marana.  CaCo3 Cao + CO2 and CaO readily absorbs moisture from the atmosphere to form calcium oxide hydrate.  Hydrate form because of CaO combining with the water molecule in the atmosphere or by due to Jala Bhavana , forming calcium oxide hydrate with Jala Bhavana method. |
  10. 10.  But in kumari bhavana again carbon molecule present in the organic matter of kumari converted in to carbon dioxide & react with calcium hydroxide & again reforms in to CaCo3 in calcite form.  CaO+H2o=Cao (OH2)  Ca (OH) + CO2_CaCO3+H2

CONCLUSION: The results shows Mukta Shukti Bhasma, Prepared with KUMARI BHAVANA becomes CALCITE form.  Where as with JALA BHAVANA shows CALCIUM OXIDE HYDRATE form.  Analytical reports contribute towards the validation of MUKTA SHUKTI BHASMA prepared with perticular bhavana dravya helps prescribing for particular condition of disease.
