2. 1st Action Sequence Bond vs. Franks The setting impacts the action in this scene because of the fact that it is in a new location where the actors do not have a choice on where they can move around. They are confined into one space which impacts the type of action that can be done. This scene supports the story because Bond must kill Franks so he can continue to keep Frank’s identity. It helps to move the story along because he can now pose as an insider without having to worry about Franks getting in his way. W: Bond & Franks W: Fighting scene W: On the lift W: On their way to Tiffany’s place W: Both going to see Tiffany about the diamonds H: Starts off on the lift and then ends on the floor of Tiffany’s place Shots: Fast moving, and mostly shows the upper body movements of them punching each other and ramming each other into the glass windows of the lift. Camera angle: Shows angles from the outside view of the lift almost to get a birds eye view of the scene. Music: Music starts as basic elevator sounding music until Bond makes his first move, then the music stops for effect. The music then picks up half way through the fighting scene until Franks is dead then the music stops again.
3. 2ndAction Sequence Bond & Tiffany vs. Police W: Bond, Tiffany, and the police W: Car chasing scene W: Mint Parking lot and ally ways W: At night time after they escape from W Tectronics W: Police knew Bond was an imposter of Hermashimer H: The real Hermashimer came in right after Bond Shots: They got a lot of shots of the faces up close as well as the shots of the cars from a distance chasing each other. These two shots were continuously going back and fourth. Camera angle: There were several angles given in this scene. One was from an outside view of the cars and another was the view as if the audience were driving in the police car. Of course the major angle seen here is the sideways view of the car slipping between two buildings. Music: Music is very loud and dramatic during the whole chase scene. The setting impacts the action in this scene because it is outside which gives Bond many different choices on escape routes as well as leading the police to wherever he feels most confident in getting away. This scene supports the story because it gives the audience confidence in our leading guy, Bond. It also helps Bond make his way into his next scene without having another crisis like the police catching him.
4. 3rd Action Sequence Bond vs. Bambi & Thumper W: Bond, Bambi, & Thumper W: Fighting scene W: Whyte’s house W: During the day W: Bond is trying to find Whyte H: The girls pretend to help, but then decide to kick butt with their karate moves Shots: Very fast past & emphasizes more on the human to human connection when the two bodies hit into each other. Camera angle: Show angles from the ground up to make the audience feel connected with Bond when he gets thrown on the ground. Music: Music starts off slower as he is walking to the house, almost as a suave sound with a hint of the Bond theme song, emphasizing something is about to happen. Once the pool action starts the music picks up to represent that the climax of this fighting scene is coming. The setting impacts the action in this scene because of the fact that it is at Whyte’s house. The audience knows that Bond is so close to finding Whyte, but then has to deal with this new obstacle in his way, Bambi & Thumper. Also the setting gives more options of where the fight can lead to, for instance outside into the pool. This scene supports the story because it is showing that Bond is getting closer to finding Whyte, and once he finds Whyte he will have a new lead to the story that will help the story continue to flow.
5. Compare/Contrast Similarities All three scenes had music in them that played with the action that was taking place. When the action taking place was at its peak the music would be the strongest then in all three. In all three scenes, Bond won. For the most part the shots were all fast pace and emphasized on either the body contact or for instance in the car chasing scene the contact of the cars. Differences The location of the three scenes were all different. The people Bond was fighting against was a different person in each scene. The angle of the camera was different in all three scenes.
