1. Write a biography
Antonio Vivaldi was a composer, a violinist, a teacher and a Venetian Catholic priest
of the Baroque. He was born in Venice in 1678 and he died in Vienna in 1742.
When Antonio Vivaldi was a child, he loved music. He lived with his parents. His
father taught him to play the violin. He composed 770 works, 400 concerts and 46
operas. He was especially known for being the author of the series of violin concertos
with the four seasons.
In a letter written by Vivaldi to his patron the Marquis Bentivoglio in 1737, he makes
reference to his 94 operas. Only 50 operas by Vivaldi have been discovered and there
is no other documentation from the rest of the operas. Although Vivaldi could have
exaggerated, in his double role as composer and impresario, it is possible that he
could have written or have been responsible for the production of up to 94 operas
during his career.
