Some estimates state that the worldwide AR and VR healthcare market will soar to $2.54 billion by 2020. Still in its blue ocean phase — with so much room to innovate and yet so many tech and marketplace realities to contend with — AR and VR in the context of healthcare settings and applications is more exciting than ever. Augmented reality and virtual reality experiences are being variously utilized in numerous ways to augment and even transform the healthcare ecosystem as we know it. However, there is still a ways to go on this journey. The current AR/VR health landscape is explored in this talk and will be considered in terms of 5 main areas where AR and VR will impact the health landscape, in terms of research, interventions, treatment, big data and so much more.
