This letter is in reference to Margherita Bandini. Margherita assisted with the manifold activities
of the N/a’an ku sê Research Programme in central Namibia for three months in 2011. During her
involvement, Margherita was tasked with trail camera controls, scientific ungulate censusing, spoor
identification, radio telemetry tracking, fence patrols, data processing and crude analysis, resource
inventories, guided field tours and literature reviews amongst other assignments. As part of these tasks
she was also responsible for student and volunteer supervision. Margherita further assisted with the
general husbandry of captive large carnivores including cheetah, leopard, African wild dog and lion and
other African wildlife.
Margherita is a meticulous worker, very organized, yet she maintains a high degree of flexibility
under difficult operating conditions. She is a good communicator and works very well with others, both
receiving instructions as well as supervising their implementation in a team structure. Margherita has
always been friendly and completed her tasks with great enthusiasm and a very positive attitude. She
was also very eager to increase her existing knowledge of African wildlife. Margherita works responsibly
and reliably. Her interaction with guests, volunteers and other staff as well as her general conduct were
exemplary at all times.
We wish Margherita all the best for her chosen career and can recommend her for any remote
field positions, be they of organizational or research nature. We have no doubt that she will always
