1. PDHPE RATIONALE
PDHPE plays a vital role in a
child’s learning. It teaches
children the importance of
healthy eating, physical
activity and safety.

2. Eat Healthy
•PDH encourages children to eat healthy. It
emphasises how important healthy eating is in
order to keep fit. It teaches children about how
their body works and its nutritional needs.
•Throughout PE lesson students are
encouraged to just drink water throughout the
game and are given many water breaks,
emphasising the importance of drinking water!

3. KEEP ACTIVE
• Children are taught to live a healthy
active lifestyle as they are shown how
important it is to keep active. They are
taught many fun sporting games that
keep them fit but are also enjoyable at
the same time. Being active is all about
having fun!

4. BE SAFE
•Children are taught how to be safe in
the outdoors and other places by
taking precautions and always making
sure an adult is with them.
•They are taught about Road
safety, swim safety and many more.

5. IT’S ALL ABOUT
HAVING FUN !! 
Being active is all about having fun. PDHPE
teaches them that it’s all about enjoying
themselves and having fun.
It brings children together as they share a
common interest when playing warm up or
invasion games.
