  2. 2. About the Client The client is a leading provider of enterprise asset management solutions with over 12 +years of experience in asset management. It holds engineering expertise leveraged by their clients operating in asset intensive industries including mining, government, safety and utilities. Client’s Service Offering The client’s asset management solution is a complete solution with a combination of software, asset IDs [which incorporate global unique serialization, barcodes, RFID and micro-dotting technologies], hardware, services, and data from one’s existing systems, for managing any point of interest, as globally unique. It provides ability to track assets uniquely and gives a real-time view of all assets and associated risks for the organization. Solution Approach & Methodology The asset intensive industry, requires management of enormous data against an asset. To input data in a preformatted workflow process, client has a web based solution wherein they create workflows i.e. step-by-step data input screen for one or multiple assets. Once workflows are created (which may vary from one input field to many or from one page to many pages), they can be run several times to create new assets or update the existing ones. The client wanted us to develop a mobile interface for executing the workflows. Since assets are spread across multiple geographical areas, client also wanted offline working on assets. Once work is completed offline, the application can upload the workflows on the central servers. Key Highlights of the Approach The entire workflow process is dynamic without a single screen or field being fixed The different attributes for a particular asset are dynamic and complex along with controls The client required a customized mobile solution just as a replica of existing web application, with same UI across different mobile operating systems The end-client users wanted to download the assets info offline as per their requirements and sync data when online www.thePSI.com

Key Challenges Achievements The dynamic screen of the workflow to be recreated on mobile screens, generally mobile screen are fixed with standardized layout Users could create their own workflows, with dynamic attributes and controls and validation The Xamarin native had a constraint in some attributes wherein team developed independent codes for different OS Sync of offline and online workflow data Complexity of asset attributes and workflow to be managed and filtered Shared business logic used for all OS, be it iOS, android OS and windows UWP Maintaining the same UX for all platforms Integration of data downloaded on mobile devices and the web server The feature requirements evolved during the development process Adopted Xamarin platform to develop shared business logic across platform Worked on latest Windows 10 framework for the windows phone operating system All the functionalities of the web application were built in the mobile applications Utilized recently launched Xamarin Test Cloud and reduced the testing efforts for the application consider- ably SQLite structure is adopted for process technology The team developed own controls to cater specialized needs of application like Due Date Control, Grid Control with add/delete feature, image/file control, asset selection control, validation controls etc. www.thePSI.com
