Ethereum 2.0 is Soon Rolling Out Today Slide 2 Ethereum 2.0 is now known as Ethereum Merge Ethereum 2.0’s first phase was launched on 1st December 2020 Full release is estimated for today Slide 3 Ethereum 2.0 will be launched in 3 phases: - Phase 0: Beacon Chain - Phase 1: The Merge - Phase 2: Shrading Slide 4 Efficiency: Ethereum 2.0 will become 99.95% more energy efficient. Slide 5 Staking: Ethereum 2.0 will switch to Proof-of-Stake Consensus, allowing anybody to stake and contribute to network security. Slide 6 Sharding: Ethereum will be broken into 18 “Shards” which will operate at the same time. Slide 7 Security: In the event of an attack, 51% attackers will be identified and easily traceable due to validator addresses. Slide 8 Multi-client network: The multi-client network will enable Ethereum to handle multiple clients that may all interact and communicate with one another.
