4. WHY THIS LAW IS NECESSARY?
Digitally occurring crime through fakebook,
WhatsApp may controlled.
Fake news through journalist will be stopped
by this law.
5. DISADVANTAGES ?
This Law will Hurt media, democracy and
freedom of expression.
Fundamental rights will be curtailed.
A sense of fear will grow among people.
Rights guaranteed by the constitution will
be curbed.
6. WHY THIS LAW INITIATE?
To deal with defamation, hurting
religious sentiments.
Causing deterioration of law and
order.
Instigation of violence against any
person or organization by publishing
or transmitting any material on any
website or in electronic media.
7. WHICH FREEDOM IS BEING BROKEN?
Bangladesh’s Digital Security Act is undermining Bangladesh’s
freedom of speech laws, with the government recently calling
for further restrictions to online content. International NGOs
have called for the reform of these laws.
Under Article 10 of the European Convention on Human
Rights, ‘Everyone has the right to freedom of expression’. This
includes the freedom to hold opinions and to share
information and ideas ‘without interference by public
authority’.
