Lesson 2: What Do You Do When Something Wants to Eat You?
In this lesson, we discuss if camouflage is
the only animal adaptation that animals
have to protect themselves. We review the
steps of the research process (presearch,
research) and then read the book What Do
You Do When Something Wants to Eat You
by Steve Jenkins to answer our research
question: What adaptations do animals
have to protect themselves? I paired the
reading of this story with photographs of the
animal and the adaptation being discussed
in the book so the students can better see
and understand the animal adaptation.
