Subject: Application for a 3 month internship
Dear Madam/ Sir,
I am writing to you about the possibility of undertaking a three month internship in the
design office at Technip starting in June until the end of August 2014. Currently, I am a second year
student at ECE which is a leading Engineering School in Paris. Within the framework of my studies, I
am required to carry out an internship with a firm such as yours. Please find attached my C.V.
As you may see in my enclosed CV, I have already developed certain skills through my
professional experience and studies. Furthermore, I carried out an internship at Sabwabco last
summer where I had to update and enhance dimensional drawings on Catia V5. I was also involved in
other projects with a group of engineers which enabled me to put into practice skills acquired during
my studies at ECE. My job also entailed contacting suppliers to get quotes and contacting clients to
identify their specifications. This was a very enriching experience which enabled me to improve my
computer-aided design knowledge as well as my organizational and interpersonal skills.
I am pragmatic, thorough, motivated, and independent and I particularly enjoy seeing projects
through. I am convinced that my profile corresponds to the position and that I could contribute
usefully to your company. Indeed, my long term ambition is to join a design office as a project
manager. I am used to working in teams on projects in order to develop the skills required in a
company.
