Task 2.2 Checklist
Undertake a study into the provision of all 3 roles at a local level

Key Points
   • Independent research into local provision of one chosen
     physical activity. Both the grass roots and the ‘initial elite
     selection’ (college 1st team) should be considered
   • The project will reflect the school, college, club and area
     provision, in terms of facilities, organizations, competitions, and
     performer development within the three roles of performer,
     leader and official
   • If the task is completed in an essay style format then 1000
     words. Students are required to add a word count and
     moderators will discontinue marking once the word count is
     reached
To enable you to complete task 2.2 you need to ensure you provide
evidence of the following in your study:

 Comprehensive insight into the provision at Grass Roots
  through to first level of elite performance
 Provision at school/college/club level
 Structure of competition
 Public and private facilities including the Voluntary sector
 Specific Schemes operating in you area
 Funding/sponsorship
 Agencie/governing bodies/charities
 Disability
 Gender
 Critical Analysis
 Extensive bibliography and appendices (and pictures!)
 Significant factual detail
 Ensure you consider the grade boundaries
 Objective rather than subjective!
 Clear Structure

Task 2.2 Local Study checklist

  • 1. Task 2.2 Checklist Undertake a study into the provision of all 3 roles at a local level Key Points • Independent research into local provision of one chosen physical activity. Both the grass roots and the ‘initial elite selection’ (college 1st team) should be considered • The project will reflect the school, college, club and area provision, in terms of facilities, organizations, competitions, and performer development within the three roles of performer, leader and official • If the task is completed in an essay style format then 1000 words. Students are required to add a word count and moderators will discontinue marking once the word count is reached To enable you to complete task 2.2 you need to ensure you provide evidence of the following in your study:  Comprehensive insight into the provision at Grass Roots through to first level of elite performance  Provision at school/college/club level  Structure of competition  Public and private facilities including the Voluntary sector  Specific Schemes operating in you area  Funding/sponsorship  Agencie/governing bodies/charities  Disability  Gender  Critical Analysis  Extensive bibliography and appendices (and pictures!)  Significant factual detail  Ensure you consider the grade boundaries  Objective rather than subjective!  Clear Structure
