Montage is a techniquein film editingin which a series
of short shots are edited intoa sequence to condense
space, time, andinformation.

Montage can be used toshow three things:
1) The passageof time.
2) Create symbolic meaning.
3) To give the audience the impressionsomething has
happened withoutshowing the actualevent.

• The passage of timecan be shown by a number of short clips
thatportray a change or progression of the subjects in the
clips.
