Who is Kidventure?
Kidventure has been providing the finest Summer Day Camps and Overnight
Camps in Texas since 1994. Our goal is simply to help grow happy, healthy kids:
We choose do this through camp activities. Kidventure runs an active and
purposeful curriculum with activities aimed at serving the whole child, including
science, athletics, art, team building, and more.
History
Kidventure was created to provide children and families a higher quality summer
camp program rooted in two main ideals.
• Children deserve an active and engaging curriculum
• Activities should be facilitated by a professional and all-adult team of
counselors and directors.
With these tenets in mind, Kidventure started in 1994 in Houston, TX with one
location. 22 years later in the summer of 2016, Kidventure served over 11,000
children in 26 campsites throughout Houston, Austin, Dallas, and the Texas Hill
Country. We have received numerous accolades including but not limited to:
• Best of Texas camps by Campsloop.com in 2014
• Best Camp by the 2013 Red Tricycle “Totally Awesome Awards”
• “Houston’s premier summer camp program” by the Houston Chronicle
• “Best Of” Dallas camps in 2011 by D Family Magazine
• Best Summer Camp 2016 by Living Magazine (Reader’s Choice)
• Best Camp Award by Nurture My Child in 2015 and 2016
Day Camp Programs
Kidventure provides summer day camp for children ages 3 to grade 9. Camp is
divided as follows:
• Discoverers, 3-5 years of age
• Explorers, grade 1 to 12 years of age
• LEADS, grade 6 to grade 9
Mission Statement
It is our mission to help build
the self-esteem and self-worth
of every summer camper. We
believe every child has the
innate ability to learn and
succeed. Our goal is to lead
children toward a happy,
healthy, and responsible
lifestyle. We accomplish this
through camp.
Kidventure Rules
There are only three rules for
our campers at Kidventure.
Though simple, they are an
important piece of our culture.
1. Respect Yourself
2. Respect Others
3. Respect Your Surroundings
Hours
Camp activities are conducted
Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to
3:30 p.m. We offer the option to
extend the day with pre and post
camp starting as early as 7:00
a.m. and as late as 6:00 p.m.
Activities
Camp is designed around a
unique summer theme and
broken down further into
exciting weekly themes for
children to explore. During each
week of camp, children
participate in scheduled events
including:
• athletics
• art
• team building
• music
• science projects
• character building
• cultural events
• water games
• swimming
• parties
• guest speakers
• field trips
• community service projects
• and much more…

More Than Camp
There is no doubt that we run some of the best camps in Texas; however,
what most people don’t understand is that Kidventure is so much more
than just camp. Changing kids’ lives is at the heart of what we do but we
tend to spread our contagious passion for positive change to everyone
around us, including our host facility.
What KV Provides:
• Programming and curriculum development
• Staffing, training, and implementation of the camp program
• Registration processing and full-time customer support
• External marketing including brochures, web, and advertisement
• A fully licensed and accredited camp with the highest standards
• An incredible resource in the Kidventure staff with over 22 years of
camp and kid experience
• 22 years of highly reputed camp and childcare experience
What Facilities Gain:
• Increased family involvement in your facility
• Additional revenue and profit center during summer
• An ideal opportunity to showcase and market your facility to
prospective families
• A much-needed care for children during the summer months
At Kidventure, we approach our host facility contracts much like we do
activities at camp. For instance, when we do a curriculum art project we
aren’t aiming to create the next Mona Lisa. We are creating an
opportunity for our staff to create a meaningful relationship with our
campers. When we enter into a contract with a host facility, it isn’t only
about the nuts and bolts of the contract but the opportunity for a
relationship to emerge between our two organizations. We want to join
with you for years to come to make a difference in the lives of families.
Kidventure Staff
The majority of camp counselors and directors we hire are college students or schoolteachers. We only hire adults,
which sets us apart from most camp programs. All are carefully screened with background and reference checks. Our
team conducts themselves under our established Staff Handbook and Code of Ethics, and all participate in thorough
training, including but not limited to the following:
• Certification in First Aid and CPR
• Sexual Abuse Prevention
‣ State and/or Church Approved Course, if applicable
• Emergency/Disaster Training
• Special Needs Training
Furthermore, we employ counselors with a variety of athletic and educational experience. We hire only the best.
Each campsite maintains a team that includes a director and staff of counselors.
• For Discoverers (ages 3-5), the ratio is 1:8.
• For Explorers (grade 1-age 12), our ratio is 1:10.
• For LEADS (grade 6-9), our ratio is 1:10.
In addition to directors, each campsite is evaluated and maintained by a Camps Manager, who oversees 2-3
locations. This team member is responsible for the ongoing quality control and support for the camp team.
Who works
Kids
with our
There are several things that we consider when we look at a host
facility, items such as:
• location
• facility space (both indoor and outdoor)
• amenities
• summer availability
• other programs in the facility
• timing
Generally, the first step in the process of becoming a host facility is to
set up a meeting with your local Kidventure Office. The camps
coordinator will meet with you at the facility, tour the facilities, and
determine if it is a good fit for all parties.
If we feel like the facility is a good fit, Kidventure will work with facility
representatives to design a camp program that works in harmony with
any existing programs and building demands. In the early stages, we
will work together to map out a strategy for summer camp. This
procedure involves determining specific rooms, usage of fields, pools,
indoor and outdoor space, and other scheduling issues.
In addition to logistical coordination, Kidventure will work with the
facility to schedule open houses and other opportunities for members,
families, or clients to learn more about the upcoming camp program.
This is an integral part of our marketing program and is essential in
developing a strong relationship with potential camp families and
children.
What’s Next
We provide a successful and rewarding program for children, which in
turn creates happy parents. Camp also provides a valuable income
stream during the summer months, increasing host facility revenue by
thousands of dollars. For many of our campsites, the revenue
generated by Kidventure has become an important factor in their
overall yearly budget.
Depending on facility space and specific camp activities, Kidventure
negotiates a rebate amount per child. This cost is built into the overall
retail cost of camp. Host facilities are rebated this amount on a
predetermined schedule.
