QGIS là gì?
 Phần mềm GIS mã nguồn mở:
 Dự án bắt đầu từ tháng 5/2002
 Chạy trên hệ điều hành Unix, Windows, OS.
 Phát triển dựa trên Qt toolkit và ngôn ngữ C++
 Giao diện thân thiện, dễ sử dụng
 Hỗ trợ nhiều định dạng vector, raster

Các chức năng của QGIS
 Xem dữ liệu
 Vector: thư viện OGR như GeoPackage, ESRI Shapefile, MapInfo,
SDTS, GML, …
 Raster: thư viện GDAL (Geospatial Data Abstraction Library) như
GeoTIFF, ERDAS IMG, ArcInfo ASCII GRID, JPEG, PNG, ….
 Hệ quản trị cơ sở dữ liệu: PostGIS, SpatiaLite, MS SQL Spatial,
Oracle Spatial,
 Kho dữ liệu online như OGC Web Services (WMS, WMTS, WCS,
WFS, WFS-T).
