- Some of these ways are:
Search Engines: -Start with your favorite such as, www.google.com

(Librarian’s Index to the Internet)
-Ask librarians about unique search engines the college
subscribes to such as LexusNexus and InfoTrac.

Questions from slide #32!
1. What effects go beyond your world?
- Like I had mentioned before, these effects will be not trying my best, not being
myself, not believing that I can do anything because I have God by my side and
whatever I see impossible I know is possible when I put it in His hands. I have a lot of
goals and dreams. Also, I have a family to make proud of those achievements I know
I will accomplish someday.
2. How can you become a literacy volunteer in your community?
- In my opinion, you can become a literacy volunteer in your community by making a
BIG impact in other people lives. Helping others without expecting something back is
the greatest gift you can give to someone that is in need. For example, simple jobs as
a tutor can help others gain strength in those areas they are weak.
3. What can you learn from Gary’s case about SQ3R and being an information literacy
reader?
- You can learn lots of things with Gary’s case about SQ3R and being information
literacy person. Therefore, having a reliable strategy reduces the number of decisions
you need to make when reading. Also, it helps you understand better while you read
and know what it means when you finish reading.
2. 4. Explain the ways that you would use to conduct an information search.
- Like the book says, the correct steps to follow to do an excellent information search
are:
Start with general
reference works.
Move to specialized
reference works.
Use the electronic catalog
to locate materials.
Browse through relevant
books and articles.
