Without introduction, the reputation of Chinese food
will still be an excellent one. The many renditions of
their food are an assurance of the majority’s
thoughts on it—which are all thumbs up. The reason
behind most Chinese food lovers’ enjoyment of it is
from its authenticity and versatility.
Chinese food has always been the subject of interest
and critique, with the many controversies regarding
its ingredients and even method of cooking. This,
however, has not stopped foodies to still enjoy their
dishes.
Authenticity
No cuisine is like the Chinese. Unlike Spanish
food, which is somehow close to all European
cuisines and Japanese to that of the Korean.
Knowing that the flavour craved can only be
offered by Chinese dishes is a clear sign of its
authenticity.
The birth of the different dishes all came from
different parts of Mainland China. Dumplings
were born in the North where it is very cold.
The creation of dumplings was to address the
need for warmth, as these were originally made
with soup inside along with the meat and
vegetables. Hence, Xiao Long Bao.
Congee, noodle soups and other warm food
were created with their belief that cold
beverages or liquid consumed with meals is bad
for digestion.
Alcohol, like many Asian cuisines, is good with
liquor or alcohol. With the various drinks to
choose from namely, rice wine, fruit liquor and
beer.

Versatility
The many flavours that the cuisine offers has made it
the subject of many fusion possibilities. If not, just
experimentation.
With the many different styles of Chinese dishes from
all over the world, their distinct taste has stuck through
a variety of mixtures despite other elements being
added to it. One will know Chinese food upon tasting,
despite it not looking like one.
If anything, fusing together elements of different
cuisines makes the food even better. By combining
the good points of the different cuisines, a unique
dish is given birth to. In America alone, dishes like
Chop Suey, Sweet and sour pork, chicken or fish,
Lemon Chicken and Fortune cookies, all do not
exist in China. They, however, still count as
Chinese food fused with American chefs’ thoughts
and ideas.
