Dear Sirs,
Mona Parikh McNicolas has been working within INSEAD’s Corporate Governance Initiative (ICGI) from
2012 to mid‐2015 as editor and case writer.
She contributed during that time to the writing of three case studies under the supervision of faculty
members and, more importantly, started the writing of executive summaries of the faculty’s research. This
is a difficult exercise of translating academic language into short and concise summaries highlighting the
key learning points of the research to practitioners (board members in our case). The work entailed
reading, exchanging with authors, writing and revising according to the authors’ feedbacks.
Mona showed that she was able to work with academics across disciplines – no small feat given the
diversity of characters and disciplines ‐ and to effectively manage the entire production process from
selecting papers to delivery of final text for publication.
As part of her job, Mona also worked significantly towards raising awareness of the activities of ICGI, by
writing reports of events and conducting interviews of the directors trained at INSEAD, for publication on
the ICGI website and newsletters.
Her articles and summaries constitute the basis of our communications and a reference to our activities.
Lastly, despite being the sole member of the Initiative’s team in Abu Dhabi, Mona’s enthusiasm and
commitment are exceptional, and her presence there was most helpful for ICGI and INSEAD’s contribution
to the governance scene in the Gulf, and INSEAD’s contribution to it.
In all this, Mona provided ample evidence that she is a great team player and networker.
So we are both pleased and grateful for all this delicate and substantial work that she has contributed to
during her time with ICGI.
