DATA MATRIX FOR THE WEEK
After making a good bounce back in the last week, the Indian markets once again returned to the declining
23th Apr 2012 - 27th Apr 2012 path and in the F&O series expiry week the major indices were pounced by over one and half a percent. It
was after the plunge of first day that the markets never looked in confident position and kept losing
Weekly Markets traction till last, out of the five session's trade in the week, the markets closed lower in three, while the
other two sessions were mere consolidation with indices not showing any courage to break past their
Sensex 17,134 -1.38% range. There was shockwaves in the markets after global credit rating agency S&P threatened to
downgrade the sovereign bond rating of India and revised its economic outlook to negative from stable,
Nifty 5,191 -1.89% citing slow progress on its fiscal situation, as well as deteriorating economic indicators. Meanwhile there
Gold(US$/oz) 1,666.3 1.42% was good news for the OMCs reeling under cash crunch, the government in principle agreed to deregulate
diesel prices. On the F&O front, April series series ended on an absolutely flat note with marginal gains of
Re/US$ 52.45 0.73% less than half a percent.The Technology and Software counters remained among the prominent laggards
in the series, which was countered by the sharp gains in rate sensitive Automobile counter.

ended April 27, 2012. The BSE Mid-cap index was down by 176.92 points or 2.76% to 6240.80 and the
Oil & Gas 7,877 -0.84
Small-cap index down by 202.69 points or 2.94% to 6697.89. The S&P CNX Nifty plunged by 100.25 points
PSU 7,099 -4.10 or 1.89% to 5190.60. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Bank Nifty down 307.80 points or 2.94% to
10148.70, CNX IT up 90.90 points or 1.55% to 5940.35 while CNX mid- cap down 257.80 points or 3.38% to
Realty 1,663 -6.09 7368.60 and CNX Nifty Junior down 355.60 points or 3.40% to 10103.30.
WEEK AHEAD
Since the coming holiday truncated week marks the start of the new month, investor's will see a lot of economic data pouring in. Auto and
cement stocks will be in the focus as both Indian automobile and cement industry will report their sales number for the month of April 2012.
Also, India's export data for the month of March 2012 would be announced next week. India's manufacturing PMI data is also due to be released
on May 2, 2012. Meanwhile, investor's will also be closely watching a meeting of expert committee of sugar decontrol, headed by Prime
Minister's Economic Advisory Council Chairman C Rangarajan, on May 3 to finally decided on the long pending 'sugar decontrol' issue. From
the earning front, results from FMCG giant-Hindustan Unilever- on Tuesday, 1 May 2012, Hero MotoCorp on Wednesday, 2 May 2012 and
Bank of Baroda on Friday 4 May 2012, will be the major one to watch. On the global front, investor's will be awaiting the release of Jobless Claims
data and Employment Situation data from US on May 3 and 4, 2012 respectively. On the whole quite lackluster sessions we are expecting in
upcoming weak though 5130-5150 could be the crucial support zone. Any drift below this level may further cause some panic among traders
though next level of support could be around 4960-4980. HAPPY TRADING...
