Introduction
 Automation or automatic control, is the
control mechanism used for operating
various devices with the minimal human
intervention.
 Home Automation allows the user to take
complete control of their home through the
remotely controllable aspects with the aid
of the electronic gadgets.
 The automation system can be controlled
from a central host PC, the Internet, and
also through the mobile phones which is the
combination of the computer and
information technology.

 Systems can range from simple remote
control of lighting to complex
computer/micro-controller based
networks with varying degrees of
intelligence and automation.
 Internally these devices will be
connected via four nodes ranging from
level 0 to level 3 nodes.
 By making use of this facility the desired
lifestyle can be achieved which is
embodied by simplicity, convenience,
comfort, entertainment, efficiency,
connectivity, and safety.

Latest Trends
 Décor-Friendly Gadgets. Home automation
technology can blend in better with the décor
than traditional devices. Techcrunch highlights
thermostats with good design and smart door
locks that look sleek and modern.
 Programmable or Zone-Based Thermostats.Turn the
heat on or down from anywhere with your smart
phone or tablet with a programmable thermostat.
Zone-based thermostats use motion sensors and
heat only occupied rooms.
 Wireless Power Controls. Home automation allows
to control myriad devices that are installed an
automated sound system for music inside and
outside home, along with HVAC, lighting, security
and pool/spa features .

 Automated Door Locks. Smart Locks take the
guesswork out of using a key by automating
the front door to unlock or even open .
 Advanced Security Systems. It provides the
user the security by making use of alarms that
can be controlled by the handheld devices.
 Ethernet technology is the emergence of
radio frequency (RF) communications
protocols such as ZigBee (IEEE 802.15.4
standard) and Z-Wave developed by Zen
Systems which is wireless technology used to
connect the devices in the smart home.

Interest Areas
 In the home automation, my interest
areas include the wireless technology for
connecting the devices and security
being provided to them.
 If provided an opportunity, I would like to
work for the enhancement of the security
and make it secure while operating from
the outside environment also.
