In this presentation, Vishakha introduces SMAC and associated trends. Vishakha's interest area lies in mobility where Vishakha wants to build platform agnostic applications to help in financial inclusion.

2. Introduction
SMAC (social, mobile, analytics and cloud) is the
concept that four technologies are currently driving
business innovation. It creates an ecosystem that allows a
business to improve its operations and get closer to the
customer with minimal overhead and maximum reach.
1. Social media:
A social media strategy has become a must for all
enterprises, be it banks, retailers or the government. It has
provided businesses with new ways to reach and interact
with customers.
3. 2. Mobility:
Mobile devices have changed the way people access
digital content. Smartphones and tablets have brought rich,
digital content to the fingertips of consumers. Enterprises
must ensure that their applications are mobile ready.
3. Analytics:
Analytics allow businesses to understand how, when
and where people consume certain goods and services.
4. Cloud computing:
Cloud computing provides a new way to access
technology and the data a business needs to quickly
respond to changing markets and solve business problems.
4. Trends
Latest trends in SMAC are as follows:
● Social Selling: Sale through social networks since they are
considered part of the new sales model.
● Rise of mobile apps: The spread of smartphones has led to
growth in the ecosystem of mobile applications.
● Data Security: Data is exploding all around us: mobile data
generation, real-time connectivity etc have changed the nature
of the game when it comes to protecting data assets. As a
result analytics have an increasingly important role to play in
data security
5. ● BYOD: Since the vast majority of consumer electronics in
the world are mobile devices, "bring your own device
(BYOD)" is more relevant than ever in the world of cloud
computing. End users are using their mobile devices to
put more and more of their own data into personal cloud
services for streaming, storage, and syncing.
All the above mentioned trends are going to have big
impact in future. But among them I think social selling
will have greater impact. Social media has had an
enormous impact on buying behaviour with 49% of sellers
seeing social media as important to their success. In fact,
among the most successful salespeople, over two-thirds
believe social media is integral to their sales success.
6. Interest Area
In the concept of SMAC, the
term mobility always excited me.
As mobile devices can also play a
vital role in increasing financial
inclusion in the country, as well as
the spread of education in rural
areas.
If I have given a internship in
this area then I would like to
develop a application which will
support multiple operating systems
and device formats. And also which
maintain data security and privacy.
